With any luck Mr. K you'll end up reading this short note.
Its congratulatory to a large extent, the article was beautiful. But its a warning that if leave for other committments any time within the next ten years I'm surely going to scream out loud.
I'll shriek in horror at the lose of your column sir.
Don't even think about telling us your overworked or need space to create. Don't even think about it OK?
Because I'll scream until you come back if you do.
Until then; Thanks tons Mr. K for your time and insights. They're beautiful indeed.
Joe, this article was spot on.
Thank you so much in other words for making clear an absurd inconsistency. In fact THE story about this 9/11 whitewash was that Keane signed on to it.
I can't believe that. Refuse to believe it even though it obviously happened. Almost as impossible to believe is how none of the major media made points along this line. Incredible!
As always though, thanks to you and Salon for giving me the insights this issue deserves.
Thanks!
Leaving aside all the screaming and yelling about who did what to whom and why this article gave me cold hard facts that made sense. Its also pretty courageous.
The irony of all ironies after all is Politically Correct speech has become anything offensive to Right-Wingers. But this article takes them on again and again.
What a country. We've actually stood up to tyranny from one coast to the next. Outside of one small pocket that refuses to repudiate being hateful and/or small minded we're damn sophisticated after all.
Thanks Salon!
You could've based this entire article on its last sentence. But you were right to end it there given the gravity of the situation.
Will the President, or will the President not finally mature though and stop trying to drag this country through the most reactionary fantasy since seccession is definetly what we all should be focused on.
He probably will. But I hope people keep in mind his motivation for doing so is to stop what would otherwise be his ultimate impeachment!
Thanks for your hard work Mr. B...great job!
This article was informative and I appreciate being able to understand what may end up being a change in an abysmaly policy toward Irag. But I refuse to accept Condi Rice as any type of hero.
Know that's not to say I wouldn't mind seeing her fall on her sword! But for a fact she has been a totally useless diplomat, an even worse National Security Advisor and consequently of no use. Period.
In fact she has set back the cause of African Americans more than any one individual currently in government. Her legacy is one of nothing but tokenism at its worst.
Wolf, and Wolf alone, should be given the credit for the formation of the Iraq Study Group. Condelezz Rice was just doing her job. And that took place only because there were no other options left!
Finally, somebody takes the time to detail the absurd pattern that is Rupert "the media ogre" Murdoch.
The press would never take him on for obvious reasons. It would only make them look bad to point out how awry publishing can become. Yet, long ago as this article repeatedly pointed out, Murdoch spun out of control. Took freedom of the press and misused it like none other. Also, contributed in a central way to making sure that a positive society has to spend an inordinate amount of time looking over its shoulder.
Murdoch's behavior is so telling. We can see through him not just how popular culture's main organ of communication operates and why it often borders on being committed to disrespecting itself. You might even say society in the main is evolving into truth being trampled on because of his type of effort.
To the extent that freedom of speech and its relationship to a free press is important marks exactly the extent to which Murdoch should be defined as a modern day tyrant.
Only free elections in fact stop such people from becoming the horrors of times past. At the rate he's helping to corrupt the popular psyche however maybe not even that checkpoint will hold.
Great job Mr. B.
Viva le Salon!
It is a masterful piece of work!
Next you'll have to follow through with a similar analysis of the Democratic Bloc that as you accurately detail now makes up our body politic.
Hap-py Days are here again.....The skies are clear and blue again.....Hap-py days are here again!
That is if Democrats aren't complex. True they don't have the issues of Vietnam and their divisive potential. But it has been so long since there has been any national agenda that addresses how this nation fundamentally defines itself. Too long maybe. Therefore the question arises as to whether or not everyone in the Democratic Party has the same intentions.
The pressing issues of our time are without parallel. It just may be the case that the Democratic Party will be forced to finish the war in Iraq. While at the same attempting to establish once and for all the highest ideals of this nation on a practical level. The Cold War was just that. While what Johnson attempted came during a time of plenty. Add to that the fact of an opposition at home that has literally institutionalized
attacks against anything not benefiting only a tiny few and you can easily see the difficulties ahead.
Maybe Mr. B you'll take your considerable talents and describe whether or not the Party has the wherewithal for its challenges.
I appreciate your time thus far for sure.....and as always, Viva la Salon!
