Endless party

Why are we so hell bent in this country against letting everyone vote? If are attention spans are so short that we have to whine that the race is too long-shorten it. Make the process not last as long, but do not deny that people have the right to vote. Either that or just let Iowa and New Hampshire chosse, and the rest of us will go by what they say.

Can Barack Obama win?

I am a Hillary Clinton supporter. I have a BA and graduate hours. My family income is well over $50,000. I resent the notion that all of her supporters are uneducated and poor. I also resent the accusation that Hillary's supporters must me racist, if they don't just jump on the Obama band wagon. I voted for her-not against him. I think she is way more quailfied to be president, I think he needs more experience. All of that being said, I will vote for him in the fall, but, I will not work for him. I won't put a sign in my yard, work for him like I have for others all of my life. I think the party is over looking the fact that women are the campaign workers in this country. We are ones who organize, and get out the vote on the county/parish level. Will he have energized workers? It is up to him. Barack Obama start telling me why I should vote for you and work for you. Give me a reason. Inspire me. You don't right now.

What inspires me about Hillary?

I have been through many difficult, seemingly impossiable situations in my life, but because I do not give up I have survived. I take great inspiration from Hillary. She is like a weeble, it wobbles but it won't fall down. Her energy is just mind blowing. It exhausts me to think about her schedule. I can not imagine that constant struggle, with the disappointments she has faced, and the constant criticism and pathological hatred people throw at her. I would love to see someone with that energy and commitmit tackle the bag of crap the next president will be handed. I hope whomever wins can clean up this mess. We all depend on it.

Yes, I believe many people are inspired by her. It may not be cool, or the hot trend of the day, but it is real.

sexism

The media has accepted and passed on so much sexism. We can look at this campaign and really see that sexism in the media is of, where the racist comment would not be. Imagine if we saw in this primary....

A crowd of white men yelling "shine my shoes" to Obama. Instead of the "iron my shirts."

Bill Marhr showing clips of Obama eating watermelon and tap dancing. Instead of Hillary crying and scolding.

What if a McCain supporter said how are we going to beat that n word, and everyone laughed including McCain.

What if Conan O'Brian said and after his speech Obama acted like Chapelle doing James Brown , as oposed to comparing Hillary to the witch in the Wizard of Oz.

And finally,

What if Hillary Clinton said wait a minute boy to a black male reporter.

The country would be outraged.

Note to Obama, you said Hillary Clinton brike ground that your daughters will benefit from. I hope some misoginist jerk never tells your daughters "wait a minute sweetie," in front of a crowd on their job site.

Role of race

This was an excellent discussion, but I think the media is focusing too much on race. There are other issues that make white voters nervous. I tell you now sitting in an office in rural Louisiana-the people here believe Obama is a muslim. They were all gathered around the computer watching the latest video on the subject. This is not race. It is the name and the ancestry-not race. If this man had an American name and a less controversial church he would do better woth white voters. Living outside of the east coast bubble. I will tell you the Democratic party is about to make a tragic mistake. 4 more years with a Republican president makes me ill. I see reality where I live. You Obama maniacs will not believe me until the day after the election in November.

Too little-too late...

I live in SE Louisiana, and having lived through Katrina, I always knew this was true, but this is the first time I have seen it spelled out in print. This story is too little-too late. Kathleen Blanco was such a victim of outright lies and misinformation is unbelievable. I believe Bobby Jindal also helped spread this misinformation because he knew he would be able to beat her to become governor. I live in a small town that is close to Mississippi. The rumor was going around that Blanco was asked what to do about our town, and she said "Let Mississippi worry about them," There is no way that she thought we were in MS, but that rumor persisted, and I know people still believe it. My point is this plan of Roves worked. She decided not to run again, and know their good friend, Bobby Jindal is governor, possiably McCain's running mate. With the close of Hillary's campaign, and all of the "sudden awareness" of sexism, I believe we can see that here. Also note they tried to do the same thing to the governor of Kansas after the tornados.

What we can do...

My doctor called to tell me my cholesterol was 235 and he prescribed me Crestor. I refused to take the drug, and instead joined a gym, begin taking fish oil, and changed my diet. In 4 months my cholerterol was down to 200. Still high, but I am continuing the life style changes to get it below normal. We can do this!
