  • Colbert & McGovern in 2008

[Read the article: Making Colbert go away]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Colbert was funny but Ray McGovern was deadly serious with Rummy today. Notice how he did it just after Paul Pilar hit so hard yesterday? Maybe it was Colbert who started all this?

  • How we lost a war that was unwinnable to begin with

[Read the article: How we lost Iraq]

I doubt the ending of this foolish madness would be any different had we christians gone in with any millions of our hordes. We would still end up like stupid fucking white men! I overheard a suit at lunch today advise another suit that Baghdad should be nuked so as to finish this mission. Comments like that make me want to sing the National Anthem in Gaelic.

  • A very, very bad thing

[Read the article: Murtha: Marines killed civilians "in cold blood"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I guess, seeing as this is not very nice, the other news organizations have decided not to report on it for now. I have not found it on the news anywhere else including TV cable news (no surpise there though I do now know all about some guy in Utah with lots of wives and kids and lost kids - thanks for filling me in on that, Andy of the Andy Cooper Hour on CNN). Kudos to Salon for all my real news. As young Colbert might say, the rest of the news folks were probably all home writing the great novel about the intrepid news reporter with balls.

  • Mexico election

[Read the article: Mexico 2006: Florida all over again?]

I think Greg Palast weighed on this before the election.

  • Grope for power

[Read the article: The emperor's new veto]

Unfortunately the world is a very scary place to live in. The president is a child who has never grown up and he has very scary uncles and aunts to look after him seeing as he does not consult his father on vital issues. His behaviour around the German leader yesterday reminded me of a video clip I saw on YouTube recently where POTUS was in a TV studio between commercial breaks and failing to find a piece of tissue handy to wipe his spectacles he instead chose to wipe them in the tail of a female TV assistants jacket! He found this to be quite humorous and seemed to convince everyone else to go along with his childish behaviour. I wonder if he is doing drugs again?

Caught that too even though I'm straight!

  • WAR

[Read the article: Watching Beirut die]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The sad truth is that this current team of superstars from West does not really have the stomach for this stuff. We like to invade weak enemies and give orders and aid so called loyaly friends like Israel even though it flies in the face of all that is true and good and right. We watch it all on TV and we tut tut or worse we applaud. And in the end the Israeli's will not have the stomach for it either they being propped up by the west. It sadens me that my tax dollars went to pay for some of the smart savvy bombs that murdered UN peackeepers and the other children and women and men of Lebanon this week. We are reaping a harvest now of what we have sowed. And, don't forget, the West are the team in this World Cup who will forever be playing their games away from home, at least until the game finally does come back to our home towns and we won't have much of a stomach for it then either Im afraid!

  • To: A Berger

[Read the article: The "hiding among civilians" myth]

I think you are thinking of Cliff Robertson the actor. Very good he was too if I remember and I think he might have died but not in Beirut.

And tomorrow in some other city some poor fool will probably take his misplaced anger out on some poor inncoent for something stupid. There's always a reason for anger as there is for terrorism. I grew up in Ireland where we knew what it was like to be targeted. We targeted them and they targeted us from the cradle up. It's getting better now yet like Lebanon that might be a fleeting memory soon too. Cherish peace and forgiveness now for soon we may never know it again.

  • It is never too late

[Read the article: Will Bush and Gonzales get away with it?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Mr. Cronin deserves praise for his actions and it is neither too little nor too late. He is obviously a man who believes in what he does and says.

  • Leiberman & Karl Rove

[Read the article: Joe's fall from grace]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Lieberman took a call from Karl Rove today. Thank heavens he was defeated. What a little Judas!

  • Flying Blind

[Read the article: Getting beyond our airport security obsession]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't care how many Binny Ladin's there are in the world it is still easier to blow up a train or bus or anything else than it is to blow up one plane let alone ten. Binny is a genius most of all in the way he uses western governments and people like Bush who rate themselves against him. Bin Ladin and Bush have a love affair going back a long time. I scratch your rash, you scratch mine and between us we'll keep the pox alive.

  • UK best or US best - maybe Pakistan is best

[Read the article: Is the U.K. better than the U.S. at stopping terror?]

seeing as the plot would not have even come to light without General Mushypeas' intelligent forces. Very intelligent men too they are the way they infiltrate themselve at times and find a flea or two here and there to throw over the fence when it suits them.

  • Jack Straw and his constituents

[Read the article: What America doesn't understand]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

C.Lisa Rice may be a "student of history" but she sure is one hell of a racist if that story about Jack Straw and his 20% muslim support is true. Miss Rice seems to have skipped some civil rights classes while she studied her history, eh? She fits right in with the rest of her gang though who never really have time for all the problems they are causing in the world. If this whole administration had been aborted at birth, the world would be such a nicer place.

  • JonBenet, Grace & maybe Karl Rove?

    [Read the article: No Grace]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

All the attention that this JonBenet Ramsey affair is getting from the cable news service, without any obvious conclusion in sight, leads my over active mind to wonder if Karl Rove or someone other Al Swearengen type mind has been working on getting something like this going? Then I realise Karl Rove is the news. He can make his own reality. Hey! Talk to Tony Soprano. He'll tell ya I'm right!
