Original article: The plot against Google

@bearpaw

Bearpaw ITA, any newsgroups about video games are stocked with (paid?) m-soft fanboys who pee in their pants over every x-box 360 sold (at a loss). Heck I have one, WHICH M-SOFT HAD TO REPLACE TWICE because it was so defective. Vista is a bad joke, and "windows 7" should be frigging free as a bug-fix, not sold as an OS. Seriously Newscorpse and M-soft deserve eachother. M-soft can't even make a functioning browser - I use google-chrome, which is free and almost never crashes, inlike frigging M-Soft IE which cannot run for 4 hours without crashing. Bill Gates lucked his way into being one of the richest men on the planet, but seriously his abilities are much more than W's.

this seems idiotic

The Newscorp base are conservatives right? So Murdoch is going to make them pay for content while the rest if free? I guess they are stupid and deserve it.

crappy msoft

M-soft has no money maker besides their POS operating system. They lost the "browser wars" badly and their 360 is a broken down joke. One more stupid venture by a company that can't make anything right.

Original article: Praying for Obama's death

@Jug

Sorry Jug, it was my anger speaking for me. I really have a problem with the "organized" part of religion, not the individual Christians or the people like me who adhere to many Christian teachings. My bad

worthless religious people

The lack of outcry from the Christian community is ample evidence that there is no Christian church worth it's weight in piss. As Jesus said, by it's fruit shall you know a tree, and judging by these assholes and the silence of their fellow Christians, we can judge Christianity.

Original article: My boyfriend is my boss

yeah, you should get out

I dunno know if you should quit the paper, but you ought to quit the relationship. You're ambitious, you take pride in accomplishments, and your goal is to be a reporter, right? The relationship is unprofessional and it makes you look spoiled, justly or not. Besides that, where can this relationship go? If he's a senior and as ambitious as you, he's off to graduate school or a job away from you, and it will end. If you stick with him, eventually one of you will have to take the crappy job so the other can have the good job so you can work in the same area. As the woman, won't that be you? I don't think that goes with your life's plan. So get out now, or at least understand that this relationship has an expiration date and don't get in too deep.

@waterbottle

waterbottle re: you concerns about SS - more babies now means more people paying into it. Less babies now means fewer people paying into it. You are advocating for what you don't want.

@Adam Parker

Adam Parker - Terms like "breeder" are offensive because they are dehumanizing. You are probably a youngster to you cannot recall our nation has a long history of being less than kind to Jews. I guess you wish I'd used a racial pejorative for Jews, but I don't have your vocabulary for that sort of thing. All this stereotyping is akin to a bunch of salon crybabies whining about the blacks taking all the good watermelons.

I have no idea where all this parent-hate is coming from. Most of us don't live in NYC neighborhoods, we don't own or want SUVs, we buy our strollers at garage sales (and not for $900).

Feel free to fuck yourself, because nobody else will.

@AAMM

AAMM you write "it's not all "breeders" that bug me"

I bet you use the same phrase but substitute "Jews" and "Niggers" all the time.

Unmutual you wrote "YOU don't have families, so why don't YOU move your lonely ass out to the burbs? You've got nowhere important to be anyways."

Original article: Welcome to Salon Food!

@JohnAnderson

Mr. Anderson, food is only ordinary if you don't know how to cook. I welcome a Salon food section, as pretty much all food websites aren't very good and are rather ordinary.

@mhoney

mhoney thanks for mentioning Juno. I hadda watch that POS on a flight and honestly I've rarely seen a bigger hoopla made over such a dreadful POS* (almost as bad as the worship of Micheal Jackson).

*other films that got way more credit than they ever deserved include Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan, also boring POSs

@tomchaps

tomchaps re:men pushing strollers. Maybe the "men" in NYC are too weenie-ish to actually carry their kid. I found baby-backpacks were far superior to strollers, as it leaves your hands free, and the kid's head is right next to your head and he can see what you're seeing. After reading a lot of comments, I have to agree with my late-dad's contention that there is something wrong with people in NYC - they argue when there is no need.

Hunterwali, on your list of people to ignore you forgot to mention people who list who should be ignored.

Original article: Everybody hates mommy

@Mike Hawke

Mike Hawke, my somewhat over the top statement stemmed from all the over the top anti-parent and anti-child horse shit I see in this thread. All of these mom-haters (not dad haters, because they are too gutless to complain to a man about a kids behavior) were tolerated and pampered when they were young* but now that they are adults they cannot stand the idea that a stroller might make them walk 1 mph slower on a sidewalk. If I had the same attitude about other people that these spoiled-brat-adults have, I'd be running down cyclists every dang day, not to mention running the "greatest generation" off the road, pulling them out of their car and beating their slow old butts with a crowbar.

*as evidences by their sense of entitlement NOW to never deal with anything the least bit inconvenient

@bigguns

bigguns, so you're saying you're as selfish and self centered now as when you were child-free - I'm glad we agree.
