  • AL GORE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE FOR 2008!!!

[Read the article: Howling at Al Gore's enemies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Joan, I read your post, and all of the comments following, and have the following comments:

First, and foremost, AL GORE WON THE 2000 ELECTION! The newspaper consortium that took charge of the paper ballots following the 2000 election hand-counted all of the Florida ballots, and, even under the most Bush-friendly standard of not counting "dimpled chads," etc., Gore WON. It was the Supreme Court's disastrous decision to involve itself in the campaign that stopped the counting that gave the election to Bush, a decision now that I am sure privately grates at Justice Kennedy and other moderate conservative justices. It doesn't really matter how lousy a campaign Gore ran, because he WON!

Second, Al Gore is the only Democratic candidate worth supporting for the 2008 Presidential Elections, for a variety of reasons:

First, he's the only candidate who has spent all of his career talking about the dangers of global warming. Forget war and peace, if we don't address global warming, those of us who live on the coasts will be drowning in rising sea water over the next 50 years.

Second, he was always against the Iraq War, and, I am sure, will have a plan to get us out.

Third, he is strongly against the illegal wiretapping and other egregious acts of the Bush Administration in fighting the so-called War on Terror.

Fourth, he's extremely intelligent, and articulate. I never considered him "wooden," as the right-wing MSM called him.

If you are reading this post, go to algore.org (sorry, I don't have a hot-link) and sign up for the Draft Al Gore in 08 campaign.

  • DCLaw 1's Correct

[Read the article: Iraq: American public opinion vs. a "small but powerful group"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

DCLaw 1's theory is correct: BushCo is the culmination of forty years of conservatives remaking the political process in this country. The only question is, will we be able to revive the political process in time to make a difference in '08?

I have cautious optimism that we will.

  • Great Article, Glenn

[Read the article: Charles Krauthammer takes rank hypocrisy to new lows]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As usual, Glenn, your posts are fantastic. Good reporting on Krauthammer's blatant hypocrisy.

  • OUTSTANDING, MR. KAMIYA

[Read the article: A tale of two horrors]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Your post today was exceptional, Mr. Kamiya. Thank you for your great insight and ability to draw analogies between two disparate acts of violence, Virginia Tech and Iraq.

  • THEY KNOW THEY ARE GUILTY, THEY JUST CAN'T ADMIT IT

[Read the article: The Bill Moyers documentary on our failed and barren press]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Glenn, outstanding article, as usual. A comment regarding your second update: I think that the MSM has a "collective guilt" syndrome going on, where they KNOW they are guilty of the 'crime' of lazy reporting and insufficient scrutiny of Bush's rush to War, but simply can't admit it because to do so would have profound consequences on their psyche. It's hard to admit that one has indirect responsibility for the deaths of nearly 3,400 Americans, over 600,000 Iraqis, 3,000,000 displaced Iraqis, and thousands upon thousands of severely wounded Americans and Iraqis.

  • You exposed Gerstein for what he is

[Read the article: The Dan Gerstein sham]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Glenn's article exposed Gerstein for what he is, a former Democrat who is disgruntled by the internet blogs and their ability (at least on the left) to get to the TRUTH.

Isn't that what journalism, and now, internet journalism, is supposed to be about? The TRUTH? The MSM has long ceased being a source of truth, even before the fraudulent run up to the Iraq War.

Let's hear it for the truthseekers, whoever they are, including Glenn Greenwald.
