GREENWALD'S RIGHT, ONCE AGAIN!!!
[Read the article: A hallmark of idiocy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Mr. Greenwald: I have enjoyed immensely reading your almost daily posts on Salon. You are a fabulous addition to the Salon website. You raise an issue that I think needs addressing, in some fashion: How do we prevent right-wing-nuts from posting vile gibberish on a progressive blog? I would not be one bit surprised to learn that the "kill Cheney" posts were actually generated by right-wing-nuts who then used the posts to denigrate the progressive blog "industry." I don't know the technical information that is passed along with a post, but, there ought to be a way to identify posters, who, if they post vile gibberish, can be banned from future posts. Of course, there is the issue of freedom of speech. One might allow the post, but only after identifying the sender as a "vile gibberish" type of sender.

GREAT ARTICLE, BUT...
[Read the article: The Iraq insurgency for beginners]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Great article, with a lot of information concerning the Iraq "insurgency." I take issue, however, with the author's concern about America's leaving Iraq. This war is Bush-Cheney's war; let them go to Iraq, with all of the neocons who urged the war on, to fix the Sunni-Shia-Al Queda mess that has been created. The rest of us can stay home and watch them be annihilated in short order. This war ought to be a lesson for those who think that military might makes right: it doesn't, know matter how large the "shock and awe" that a military can create.

GORE HAS TO RUN!
[Read the article: Why do journalists suddenly love Al Gore?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This post is an open letter to Al Gore:
For the sake of this country's future, and the world's future, you DON'T have a choice: you MUST run for President. This time, you have the entire progressive blogosphere to back you up when the MSM fails in its mission of truth-telling, which is quite often these days. As other posts to this article point out, you are dead-on right on two issues: Iraq and Global Warming. You foresaw the grave consequences of invading a country that posed no threat to America and that had not collaborated with Al Queda in the 2001 attacks. And, you have spent your entire public career warning us of the dangers of global warming.
You have a positive message about the future, which is, despite the crisis we face with global warming, with sacrifice and dedication, we can begin to reduce America's carbon-loading into the atmosphere. We can develop whole new industries, such as solar panel collector manufacturing, that can place a solar collector on every house and building in the Southwest and Southern states, sharply reducing demand for electricity produced by carbon-spewing means. You will restore constitutional checks and balances in government, and with the "war on terror," will not conduct illegal searches, seizures and detentions.
This time, we have your back, Mr. Gore. PLEASE, PLEASE Run!!!

A FABULOUS ARTICLE!!!
[Read the article: Confrontational investigations, subpoenas, and hearings are the priority]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Glenn, you hit the nail on the head with your article. I have been telling my friends for a month or more that the Democrats should forget trying to stop Bush's war escalation, but should investigate the hell out of the Administration. With the Libby verdict today, there is no reason that Congress should delay any further in beginning a full-scale investigation into the runup to the war, the outing of Valerie Plame, and the illegal war tactics used by the Administration, including wiretapping, torture, and secret renditions. By the end of the investigation, there should be a public clamor for impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. If the investigation is blocked by unresponsive answers, as I fully expect it will be, then it is my hope that the public will clamor for their impeachment anyway.

WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT DARTH CHENEY?
[Read the article: Dick Cheney's warped vision of the world]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kudos to Greenwald for another great article. Question: What do we do about Dick (Darth) Cheney? I have read recent blog articles and posts that suggest that the Demos should focus on impeaching Cheney, first, rather than try and get both Bush and Cheney. There's no question that Cheney is the "president," rather than Bush, and that if he were removed, that Bush might change. There's also no question that Cheney has committed countless high crimes and misdemeanors, each of which is an impeachable offense, not the least of which is the orchestrating of the outing of Valerie Plame. When Plame testifies before Waxman's Committee this Friday, the Committee should demand that Cheney appear and testify about his role in outing Valerie Plame. When he refuses to testify, as undoubtedly he will, then Articles of Impeachment should be introduced.

GLENN, HOW DO WE GET THE MSM ON THIS STORY?
[Read the article: Support for al-Qaida plots on large right-wing blog]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As we all know, the MSM is essentially part of the Right Wing Noise Machine, (RWNM) especially with the likes of Jake Tapper on ABC and others, who thinly disguise their blatant right wing bias. How do we get your fine article out there? The only progressive point of view that has gotten out there, as far as I can recall, is last August's blogosphere outrage about ABC's impending 9/11 special, which was put together by a blatant right-wing hack. I guess we all have to copy your article and e-mail it to ABC and other MSM outlets. I will do that now, and hope that others do as well.

LET'S KEEP THE FOCUS ON THE WAR IN IRAQ
[Read the article: Republicans and U.S. attorneys -- then and now]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am concerned that the Democrats's glee about the Bush Administration's "botched" (explaining with lies in testimony before Congress) firings of eight U.S. Attorneys will deflect the attempt to fully investigate the run-up to the Iraq War, the outing of Valerie Plame, and the illegal activities taking place in the name of the War on Terror (wiretapping, extraordinary renditions, torture, etc. While there is no doubt that Gonzales or his underlings lied when they testified before Congress about a month ago, concerning the reasons for firing the attorneys, those lies pale in comparison to the lies that were fed the nation in the run-up to the Iraq War, crimes that are war crimes, in my opinion. Democrats, and responsible Republicans, MUST INVESTIGATE FULLY the run-up to the Iraq War, including the outing of CIA covert agent Valerie Plame, and the blatant illegal activities taking place in the War on Terror. To not investigate these activities is to tacitly condone them.
