ABORTION IS A NIGHTMARE, BUT IT MUST REMAIN LEGAL
[Read the article: Harry Reid's pro-life stance vs. Ron Paul's ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Glenn's article today gets to the heart of the Abortion issue: when does individual freedom trump the right of a non-viable fetus? As a regular church-going, albeit progressive, Catholic, I am against abortion, and would not want my children (both female) to choose it should they become pregnant without choosing to be pregnant. On the other hand, we must rely on the woman to make the right choice, and not legislate it, because to do so is to violate the fundamental freedom one has about their own body. Roe vs. Wade attempted to define when the State has an interest in restricting abortion, which, in general terms, becomes OK once a fetus has reached the point of viability outside the womb. With advancing technology, this point is becoming earlier and earlier during pregnancy, and may, someday soon, become problematic if an artificial womb is developed or some other medical advance. Glenn is to be commended for his position on Ron Paul, which is to highlight Paul's defense of the constitution and our proper role in the world, even though Greenwald does not agree with Paul's anti-gay and anti-abortion stands.

IF YOU'RE FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE, VOTE FOR EDWARDS!!!
[Read the article: The role of political reporters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The only way that the MSM is going to pay attention to Edwards is if he starts winning elections. So, if you're from New Hampshire, get to the polls tomorrow and VOTE for Edwards!

THE NATIONAL TRAGEDY IS THE STATE OF OUR MAINSTREAM MEDIA
[Read the article: Another San Francisco tragedy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan, I am very sorry to hear about another senseless shooting death, especially given the situation at your daughter's high school. Reading through some of the blog posts excoriating you for calling SF (I am an SF native) a "privileged" city, I must point out that the real tragedy is the lack of MSM coverage of the story. If this happened in middle America, to a white father of a star basketball player, the MSM would be all over it, complete with a GMA interview, etc., etc. Instead, it's another "black murder," in the most liberal city in America. The state of the MSM is rotten to the core; witness the complete ignorance of candidates such as Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards, and the fawning of more 'acceptable'(non-corporate-threatening) candidates such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Witness the drumming up of war with Iran, with the completely fake newstory last week about the "almost-shootup" in the Strait of Hormuz near Iran. (debunked completely later in the week by Reuters, and nary a correction to the televised coverage earlier in the week) I fear for the future of this country!!!!

EDWARDS IS STILL MY CANDIDATE
[Read the article: The race vs. gender war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]After getting over Al Gore, I decided in late November to support John Edwards, and, if California's election were held today, would vote for Edwards. The MSM has decided that Edwards is not a worthy opponent, because he rails about corporate greed. Please, if you can, donate to Edwards' campaign, so that he can put truth in the last poll showing a statistical tie between Clinton, Obama and Edwards. My problem with both Clinton and Obama is their ties to their corporate donors, and that, because of them, they won't be able to effect the change that we absolutely must have if we have any future, that is, to restore the individual to his/her place in this society, at the expense of the almighty corporation!!!

GREAT ARTICLE, AS USUAL
[Read the article: The Kucinich court decision and "judicial activism"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kudos to Glenn Greenwald for his insight into the RWNM's mantra, "judicial activism." It's not judicial activism when the ruling in question get's the RW's intended result, only when it goes against the RW. Hence, Bush v. Gore was not judicial activism, but Kucinich v. MSNBC is. As Glenn would undoubtedly point out, the Supreme Court committed the supreme act of judicial activism getting involved in the 2000 Election, despite two hundred years of precedent against courts resolving "political questions."

KUDOS GLENN GREENWALD FOR TAKING KING TO TASK
[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kudos to GG for taking King to task, and publishing, verbatim, King's response to GG, complete with mistakes, etc. How dare King decide that GG is 'drivel.' Actually, I think that King is "projecting" his heart of heart realization that what the MSM is doing is drivel....
