Interesting to note the observations of others on this website. I'm just going to assume that most of the people pointing the finger and calling him a hustler have tried their hand at internet kiddie porn. Perhaps they are trying to discredit this young man to minimize their guilty conscience.
This is a cheap shot, like accussing those who oppose the Iraq war of being unpatriotic. Juvenile statement.
What is deemed to be victimization, especially in regards to sexual matters is always controversal in America. If they are children and don't know any better, then it seems to be okay that they are labeled victims. If they're older, then it's assumed they SHOULD know better and are not victims.
"Victimization" according to whose definition? Define "child" in the context of this story. I'm not sggesting that there are not real sex crimes, or not real instances of sexual abuse and exploitation. Of course there are. Sexual abuse can occur at ANY age and between people of any age. I do not believe that the Justin Berry story rises to the occassion. If anyone can be said to have "exploited" anyone in this story, Berry is as responsible for that and for victimizing his clients as they are of him. This is just another one of those ridiculous American sex scandal stories, hand wringing over nothing.
Apparently people have forgotten that in matters of sexual exploitation and abuse, survivors are groomed and molded into compliance. What is deviant/abusive to mainstream society becomes the norm for victims. By the way, there are no cookie-cutter sexual crimes. It ranges on a continuum of intensity BUT it's all considered exploitive and abusive.
Considered by whom? None of this is relevant to the Justin Berry story.
