This article is about a serious flaw in the election in New York. These flaws mostly favored Clinton, but there were a few places where it happened to her. This is a problem and it needs to be addressed to make sure it doesn't happen again. No one is claiming corruption, but the problem needs to be talked about.
The audit did not happen because someone wanted to get more votes for Obama. It is part of the standard election practice. The election night totals are NOT the official counts. These audits are ALWAYS done. The audits, not Mr. Manjoo or Obama backers, are turning up votes for Obama.
Florida and Michigan are a completely different story. They were told well in advance what would happen if they scheduled their primaries early. They did it anyway. If you have a problem with it, take it up with the governments of Florida and Michigan. One of the Clinton "count all the votes" campaign managers voted last year to strip these states of their delegates.
The elections were not valid. The people knew that the vote was just make-believe going in, so you can't claim that it is an accurate representation. I wouldn't have gone to vote knowing it wouldn't be counted. 40% of democratic votes in MI showed up JUST TO VOTE AGAINST Clinton in a meaningless election. It would be ludicrous to give her those delegates.
The DNC has offered to hold caucuses (since the states won't pay to have legitimate primaries) in both states so that democrats there can have their say. But those wouldn't unfairly favor Clinton, so they are unacceptable to the Clintons.
Then there are Hillary's slimeball FL and MI tactics. She was the only major democrat classless and valueless enough to leave her name on the MI ballot (knowing full well that she would argue for those delegates if need be). She campaigned in Florida without "campaigning in FL", through fund-raisers, pre-election promises that if SHE won, she would get the delegates seated (assuring that pro-Hillary voters went out, while others stayed home because it was pointless to vote), and held a "victory rally" in Florida the night of the election. That sounds a lot like campaigning in FL to me, but I thought getting Lewinskied counted as sexual relations, so what do I know.
Salon is getting absolutely ridiculous in the extent they will go to to help Hillary win.
To twist Obama's comments into a PMS line is idotic at best. Hillary is 60 years old. Periods are not the reasons for her evil streak.
Some have pointed to her being referred to as "the Bitch" as sexist. I disagree. Hillary is NOT called a bitch because she is female. She is called that because of her actions. Would they call a man that? No, but I don't see anyone calling Hillary a dick, a prick, or a faggot either. Is it sexist to call men these?
Hillary is running a campaign based on lies, slander, misdirection and racism. She is doing this against a DEMOCRAT. She is lifting her talking points from John McCain. Maybe Obama should cry some and complain that the old people are ganging up on him.
Hillary has used the fact that she is female for political advantage and used the fact that Obama is black for political advantage. Her strategy (all but confirmed by her own staff) is to paint Obama as "the Black candidate". Obama, of course, can't respond to this outrage without compounding the problem and helping the slimeball (I am sure that Hillary's Flying Monkeys™ will find some sexist connotation to even that term) marginalize him.
Let the superdelegates hand it to Bill's wife. Let the ABH (Anyone But Hillary) movement begin. After years of questioning how Americans could be so stupid as to fall for the Atwater/Rove smear campaigns, Salon and the flying monkeys are actually defending Hillary for swiftboating a fellow democrat. John McCain has veered right to secure the nomination, but in the long run, he is far less scary than a President Hillary would be. Unlike her, he is at least a tiny step up from Bush.
We all know that McCain desperately wants Clinton to win, knowing how easily he would beat her in November. Even giving her just enough of a boost to lead to a brokered convention would be good news for McCain.
The only scenario that is really bad for McCain is for Obama to continue to do as well as he has Super Tuesday, essentially locking up the nomination on 3/4.
