i, too, was dismayed and/or disgusted by DeLay's harsh/lop-sided words on Hardball last night. the fact that he spewed his filth while grinning through those chemically whitened/pre-fab teeth of his made the entire spectacle even more abhorrent. in contrast, the dazzling Debbie Wasserman Shultz was not only brilliant, she was spot-on in her response.
too bad you didn't hang around for MSNBC's 1/2 folo, tho'. instead of a Matthews rerun, Keith Olberman hosted a 30 minute 'review', which, as an Obama fan, was fine by me, but as a news-junkie, seemed to tilt the network further "left" than it was prior to the show. again, i'm a proud and devoted Obama supporter, but yeesh, shouldn't there be some semblance of "objectivity"? i'm just saying... why give the GOP more reason to cry foul and/or continue to whine about the "mainstream media"? not that i've been able to figure out what constitutes "mainstream media", mind you, but that's beside the point. the point, which desperately wants this election to be over with, is that you turned the channel too soon. or maybe you turned it just in time... you decide. ; )
that said, as much as i enjoy me some Hardball, i am an unabashed slave to The Daily Show AND The Colbert Report. and i thought Jon Stewart's interview with Obama was fun, fresh, and fabulous.
... a number of times over the course of these past 2 days. mind you, I AM NOT A FAN, but that guy does know his stuff. he had actually predicted an overwhelming Obama win the day before (his website is a testament to his political savvy) and was beyond complimentary of the way our new -- and fabulous -- president-elect ran his campaign. this morning i actually heard Rove chide the idiots on Fox and Friends when they tried to imagine the transition -- and how awful Obama's staff would be. "Give the new administration a chance to settle in" he said, "it's not easy. Don't be so anxious to criticize them before they've even set up shop". sure we know what will happen once they DO set up shop, but i, for one, was gratified to hear Rove take the high road for a change. who knows? maybe he'll discover it's nice up there, and stick around. stranger things have happened...
