All of this is quite obvious and really shouldn't require refuting- I see this argument cropping up a lot lately though. IYou may oppose birth control for ideological reasons and that is your business but since this is not a theocracy (yet) thankfully you are not in a position to impose your ideology on my body (yet).

-- CeliaInSF

If you honestly believe my posts read that I want to impose my ideology on your body, you are fucked up in the head. Go back and read my posts again. If you still believe it after you read them again, maybe you can get your insurance to pay for your head exam.

Some people just have to jump all the way to fucking crazy first. What a world.

AKA Smith

You and the previous poster really need to calm down and read posts slowly and carefully before you freak out and jump to conclusions.

I don't give a shit what anyone does with/to their body. Seems people just want someone else to pay for everything they do. Grow up and take some responsibility for your actions. Condoms prevent pregnancy AND they prevent the spread of disease when you use them properly. The pill DOES NOT. Fuck anyone you want anytime you want, I don't care. Really.

Jesus Christ, you people are nuts.

I give up, you all win.

If you go looking for insults in everything you read, your going to find insults in everything you read.

You can't have an adult conversation with anyone anymore about anything. This world has grown an incredibly thin skin.

Good luck to you all.

Original article: George W. Bush: "Awesome!"

@Andrea Higbie

If McCain has no chance, why is Bush president?

Bush is, and has always been, a retarded man-child and the majority of the american voters decided he was just like them and they voted for him. Bush didn't make himself president.

I'd say with those odds, Obama is the clear underdog.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 08:06 AM

At this point, McCain should explain exactly why we have to stay in Iraq forever.

Why is it so important for repubs to make sure we stay in Iraq til the end of time? If violence is down and the place seems stable, lets leave. That's the point, right?

The "surge" worked as they seem to want to explain it, so mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. Pack up troops, time to leave.

What's the real reason we're staying forever John? Forget Obama, time for McCain to do a lot of explaining.

Friday, July 25, 2008 08:11 AM

None of this matters

Democrats will vote for Obama and Republicans will vote for McCain.

It's going to take something massive in this country to make someone switch parties and to be realistic, no one is paying attention to any of this except for a very select few like the people reading Salon and a few others.

Most americans don't give a enough of a shit to pay attention. Ask someone on the street how many american soldiers have died so far in Iraq. You won't find one who knows. I can't find one either.

Same old shit.

Original article: Happy anniversary, Rush

ahartnack

13,000,000 can't be wrong?

Half of the voters in this country were wrong, TWICE IN A ROW!

See, what Rush realized years ago was that he was a failure in everything he tried and talking shit made him money. You've been had. Congratulations. Learn the truth first and then make an opinion based on facts, not the other way around.

I will filibuster any bill with telecom immunity.

More bullshit.

Who gives a fuck anymore. No matter what either one of them says, it's sure to be crap.

Original article: The stable map

I follow the election coverage and debates...

...and the good points some pundits make and then I remember that most people I meet don't even know whether it's day or night and don't even care.

When it all boils down, the repubs will vote for McCain and the dems will vote for Obama. It'll be close, again.

The only thing that will determine the outcome is whether American Idol is shown on Election Night.

Original article: White House ordered forgery

I'd love to be the next president!

I'd be able to run around the country and just kick old ladies in the stomach at will cause there's no crime too big to get away with as president! Steal some money from the wallets of Iraq vets at the VA while they're getting treatment...fuck it, I'm president!

All this is possible and more in the New World Order! They took the bar, dropped it to the ground and burned it. Then they buried the ashes.

America is fucking #1, dude!

When the Iraqi parliment adjourns...

...can our soldiers adjourn?

Friday, August 8, 2008 06:41 AM

@rrk1

Exactly.

Isn't it time to bring back the "well regulated militia" the 2nd amendment talks about?

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 09:42 PM

Can someone please refresh my memory...

...who was it again that the British surrendered to at the Battle of Yorktown?

Original article: Plot to kill Obama?

Nathan Johnson?

Isn't that the name of the Steve Martin character in "The Jerk"? A white man from a black family.

This world just gets weirder and weirder.

Tuesday, August 26, 2008 07:38 PM

McCain should announce immediately.

I could use a good laugh right about now.

Thursday, August 28, 2008 07:25 AM

Swag...swag...swag, swag, swag.

Please stop.

Bury that word, please.

I wasn't going to vote for Obama

because of his FISA game but Palin on McCain's ticket has energized me to change my mind.

Her nomination on any ticket; Democrat, Republican or Independent, is an insult to me and my country. Whatever shred of respect I had left for McCain is long gone. I can't wait to vote against these two idiots.

Go Obama!

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 07:04 PM

@BobbyG

Amen.

I'm a jaded person but I am actually shocked that every single trait I loath in humanity is present in this woman. I'm still shocked that I'm this shocked!

Time to cut these assholes to shreds. My future depends upon it.

I'll say it again with conviction: GO OBAMA/BIDEN!!!!!

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 07:32 PM

@jgs

I'm with you. I'm about to do the same.

I'm a registered independent and this nomination has energized me in a way I didn't think possible and hopefully other independents feel the same way. I'm still fucking speechless, and that NEVER happens.
