  • Hillary v. Sam

    [Read the article: She's in]

I believe Hillary would make a great President. (Just sent a contribution this morning as a matter of fact.)

Those on the far right will never vote for Hillary, it's true. Who cares? They won't vote for any Democrat.

The bigger question is the mushy middle. They will decide the election.

Wouldn't it be a great matchup; Clinton / Obama v. Brownback / Romney?

The right wing nut jobs are never gonna support McCain or any other 'moderate'. They are more likely to drive over the cliff with Brownback and/or Romney.

I cannot imagine the mushy middle voting for someone like Brownback over Hillary.

Finally, I heard the same tired 'un-electable' message in 2004 about Howard Dean. Look where electability got us...Kerry. ugh.

    Go Hillary!

  • Heather, you are wrong

    Heather,

You need to explain yourself. Marcel has never been a favorite of mine. But he did not deserve that treatment from Cliff.

What's wrong with you? I am dumbfounded by your lack of compassion.

You made me laugh out loud. :-)

I agree with you wholeheartedly, although I will NOT be cancelling my subscription to Salon. I enjoy Salon too much.

Camille's just plain boring. She hasn't anything interesting to say and, without adoration and attention, she's nada. Ignore her and she will go away...eventually.

    This was from 1991.

Sad for me that we've lost Molly and got Camille. Unfair really.

    Thanks Rebecca.

    I enjoyed this article.

  • Heroes

[Read the article: I Like to Watch]

Geesh Heather, you have a tough audience!

Anyhoo. I have struggled with Heroes as well. But the last two episodes have been kick ass.

My only complaint with the show is Sylar. Moohinder (or the stupid cow, as I like to call him) had time to knock Sylar out, carry a dead Peter Petrelli and load him in a cab and drive him to mama, but didn't have the time to kill Sylar. Stupid writing. We know Moohinder made the decision to kill Sylar becuase he fired a gun at Sylar.

Secondly, Sylar bugs me because he is evil without standing for anything (kinda like Bush). The inept heroes can never kill him. He's like a cockroach with no reedemable characteristics and that makes it doubly frustrating when the heroes blow an opportunity to finish him off.

I think Linderman would be a much better adversary. He seems to have a plan. It's like Magneto. You could see him as the enemy, but you could also understand why he was acting the way he was.

    Sylar, not so much.

  • My response to both my worthless Democrtic Senators.

    Dear Ms. Murray / Cantwell

I am very upset with your vote to support the Democratic cave-in to Bush. I have already logged my complaint via phone, but would like to further explain my position.

Your vote was important to me for several reasons. The primary reason was that I needed proof that we have an opposition party in this country. One that would hold Republicans accountable to the rule of law and to the ideals of our Founders.

It is painfully obvious after this vote that the Democrats, and you in particular, are not strong enough to defend our country or our troops.

The 2006 election was clear; President Bush's popularity is the lowest for a president in a generation; the cost to our country in both financial and human resources is stark...yet you still could not make a principled stand.

I have always voted. I have always voted Democratic and never Green. I did this because I believed the Green party was not strong enough to hold the Republicans accountable. But now you've shown me that the Democrats are not any more capable.

I won't be voting Green. I will continue to vote Democratic with two exceptions. I will NOT ever vote for you or for Patty Murray / Maria Cantwell again. I am not sure I can bring myself to actually vote for a Republican Senator, but I know I can simply not vote for a Senatorial candidate period.

I don't vote for a candidate because of a specific or 'litmus' issue. But I do support a candidate with shared values that will not give in to bullying when their principles and their country are under attack. I am truly sorry I voted for both of you in the past. You (and Murray / Cantwell) are simply not deserving of my respect or my vote.

    In disgust,

    Michael Stewart

  • Completely Agree

The more I think about this cave-in to Bush the angrier I am getting.

I've been a lifelong Democrat. But that is coming to an end.

It's hard to explain, but I have always harbored the fear that the Democrats were no match for the Republicans and would not be able to stand against Bush's bullying.

I was right to have this fear. Voting for Democrats in 2006 did nothing. It has all been for naught.

Further, I have to ask, "If the Dems cannot stand up to Bush, how the hell are they ever gonna go against Al-Qaeda?"

I am beginning to think that it is a damn good thing Republicans are control. Imagine the Democratic leadership negotiating with Al-Qaeda!

  • Henry? Nancy? Can you please stand up?

[Read the article: The three stooges]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

My anger has moved beyond Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Gonzales. I am at my wits end with Democrats in general and Reid / Pelosi in particular. I have already decided to never again vote for my two worthless Senators (Murray and Cantwell) after the Iraq Resolution Fiasco. But other than that, I just don't know what to do. The Democrats do not deserve to win the White House or take control of Congress. They aren't the lesser of the two evils, they are the enabler of evil. Isn't there anything we can do to take back the Democratic Party from these two witless hacks?

  • Who's betraying whom?

[Read the article: Harry Reid talks tough on Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Harry Reid talks tough!?! Oh my! Please...Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will roll over just like they always do. Yes, the Reblucians are evil. But the Dems are also evil for standing by while the Republicans dismantle and betray the Republic.
