Excellent points. Broadsheet not only posted a link to the photos but a link to Perez's website. I honestly would not have clicked on it or even been aware of this feud had Broadsheet not brought it to my attention.
It appears Broadsheet/Mary Beth Williams is giving Perez Hilton exactly the thing he craves most: Attention.
Also, I have to agree with the others. Who the hell lets their 15 year old go out clubbing and how did this underaged kid even get in?
As long as the media, from CNN to The WSJ, continue to give this woman space and act like her opinions matter or that she is any way relevant, then you can bet your bottom dollar she will not go away.
Yeah, she's a joke who cannot string a sentence together but as the birthers and the clowns at the townhall meetings who compare Obama to Hilter show there is a lot of stupid, angry people out there. Frankly, if she does run maybe she should hire Camille Paglia as her media relations person.
but I had a baby 3 months ago and could fit back in my pre-pregnancy jeans 4 weeks after giving birth. Other than walking, I did not work out. I did not restrict food. (Indeed, I ate more because I was breastfeeding exclusively.) I am just a naturally thin, small-framed woman.
From the looks of it, Richie may be that way. I am not saying her super-slim look was naturally, but she was never a big woman.
I cannot believe how some people are acting like this man is a political prisoner or something akin to that. He's a grown man who raped a CHILD.
I remember when salon ran an article several months ago about a documentary regarding this incident and there was a letter writer who basically said Polanski was "European" and those of us who were disgusted by him were all just a bunch of American prudes.
I am also tired and of people trotting out the fact that he lost his mother in the Holocaust and his wife to Charles Manson's followers. As tragic as these things may be, it does not give him a free pass to do whatever the hell he pleases.
Frankly, Polanski is one of those people who I can respect as an artist but as a person, I think he is one sick little monkey.
would want him to babysit their 13 year old daughters esp. that Washington Post reporter who lamented that poor Polanski couldn't even receive his Oscar in person.
Poor Polanski! There really should be a "Free Roman" foundation. I mean he has only lived the last 32 years in luxury in France and been allowed to continue a profession he clearly loves and is good at. Hasn't he been punished enough? (If they still disagree, just trot out his second wife was murdered by Charles Manson or some other detail of his past which has nothing whatsoever with the fact that he's an adult who admitted to raping a 13 year.)
Not to apologise for the act..but if he did get promised a deal, and he did believe (at the time) that the judge was going to renege, I don't blame him for fleeing.
Oh, so in your eyes, it is okay for him to flee and say not use his vast resources and high power lawyers to appeal? Would you feel this way if he was not Roman Polanski the director, but the guy who lived next door to you?
The people who continue to defend this guy need a reality check. This guy is a child rapist. I don't care if he gave us Rosemary's Baby, painted the Sistine Chapel and found the cure for AIDS-he raped a child and fleed.
In her grand jury testimony she referred to having had two prior sexual encounters. Why weren't those guys arrested and tried? I mean, if she was too young to consent, and rape is rape, and the law is the law... what happened?
Did you ever consider that perhaps they were with boys her own age?
Here's a FACT: Roman Polanski had sex with a 13 year old. This b.s. that he did not know she was 13 is b.s. and would not hold up in a court of law even if he did not know.
Depending on the treatment she is receiving, Elizabeth Edwards could live for years. She may well decide enough is enough and leave her husband.
Frankly, I wish she would. The man truly is a sleazeball.
On one hand, I hear over and over from Polanski supporters he is sooo brilliant, so educated, etc. Yet these same people claim that this brilliant man was seduced by a 13 year old child and was the plot of some money-grabbing scheme cooked up by said child and her mother.
If that doesn't work, then mention again that in addition to being a great director, he had a tragic life. Oh, and be sure to bring up the fact that the girl had previous sexual encounters because we all know that only pure, virginal types can be rape victims.
Seriously, enough apologising for this man. I wonder if the Hollywood elite would be circling the limos if this man was a right-leaning politican. The hypocrisy astouds me and I am a liberal for cryin' out loud!
As far as this "he's a European" b.s., I lived in Europe, am married to a European and am unaware of any European countries that thinks drugging and anally raping a child is okay.
If this guy wasn't famous, I doubt that any of his supporters would even want him living in their gated communities or co-ops.
