Kristol's 1st Op-Ed
[Read the article: Chris Matthews is right ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I was amazed at Kristol's first op-ed. It was like a caricature. He just sets the pins up for people to knock down.
"We don’t want to increase the scope of the nanny state"
nanny state"? Like the kind of government that listens to all your phone calls and reads all of your email?
"we don’t want to undo the good done by the appointments of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, and we really don’t want to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory in Iraq." The good done by the appointments of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. You mean how they actively work to do exactly what they said they wouldn't do during their confirmation hearings?
Finally, "and we really don’t want to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory in Iraq." Yes, all the problems in Iraq are the Democrats fault. Forget that even if all the problems in Iraq were gone tomorrow, which they're not, it still cost a trillion dollars. That's kinda a lot of money. We probably could have taken care of all those health care problems with that kind of cash and bought me a new car.
That was just one insane Kristol sentence. In a way I guess the Times is right in hiring him. Everyone love to watch a train wreck. It will bring in many page views and advertising dollars.

Glen Greenwald unresearched?
[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Saying Glen Greenwald is unresearched is insane. It does kind of prove he doesn't read your work. Glen's biggest weapon in all his posts is the mountian of research he's done.

How does a press secratary sleep at night?
[Read the article: Senators to Mukasey: It's time]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So the administration didn't go along with Dana Perino's promise to answer all questions after that pesky confirmation thing? Go figure.

Very Shady
[Read the article: Bush-friendly station blocks "60 Minutes" Rove report]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"We just happened to have this 'technical problem' right when the news story started and solved it right after the story was over. Very shady. The FCC should pull their license. I find fascist censorship much more offensive than a butt on NYPD Blue or an 'equipment malfunction' at the Super Bowl.

The legal solution.
[Read the article: Who cares if Eliot Spitzer hires prostitutes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So as DCLaw1 points out that since making pornography is legal and prostitution is not I think the solution for all these parties is just to video tape the act. Then they were just hiring an "actor" for a "performance" and all is legal.

"I don't recall GG defending Larry Craig or Vitter." Actually he does...
[Read the article: Misadventures in logical reasoning -- and lessons learned from the Spitzer scandal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I don't recall GG defending Larry Craig or Vitter. Suddenly, we need to just lay off of spitzer because other people ignored those other guys. Those other people or hypocrites. So what does that make GG and spitzer's other defenders? At least those who joined the dog pile on craig and vitter."
Actually, in this article, Glen links to his previous posting where he questions why Craig gets pressured to resign while Vitter gets a pass and is defended. So I guess you're wrong.

Conservatives pumping out propaganda commercials
[Read the article: The principled, honest House Republicans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I noticed some neocon group had a commercial in heavy rotation last night over the Democrats and Pelosi are putting us at risk from the terrorists by not passing the bill.
They didn't mention anything about telecom immunity in the commercial however.

Obama should sneak 3 pins into his next debate.
[Read the article: Brian Williams nominates Peggy Noonan for a Pulitzer Prize]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think Barack should sneak 3 lapel pins into his next debate. Then when it comes in he can show 2 pins and say. "See, I must love America twice as much as you." Then the third. Three times as much. Then explain how such escalation will lead people to think their politicians work at TGI Fridays. It reminds me of the required "flair" in Office Space.
The people that complain about this kind of thing are the same ones who put magnetic yellow ribbons on their Escalades. (Cant put a sticker or something you couldn't take off.) They don't understand that the true patriotic thing to do is drive a smaller car.

Reservists need to be treated more in line with their commitment.
[Read the article: Webb calls out McCain on G.I. bill comments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It seems like one of the problems is that a reservist isn't what it used to be. Their still basing the benefits on a reservist not being someone who gets shipped off to Iraq for a year and a half multiple times. The commitment is much more demanding and they should be compensated for that.

7 out of 10 is good?
[Read the article: Michael O'Hanlon's defense of his pro-war record]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If we want to carry out this homework analogy further, when I went to school, 7 out of 10 (70%) was a barely passing D. 69 was an F. Pat yourself on the back O'Hanlon.

I may have to get off the bandwagon.
[Read the article: Obama advisor Greg Craig: Adding insult to injury]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Dems continue to dissappoint me. This is pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.

McCain non voting strategy
[Read the article: Democrats' strategy: Strength through bowing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I noticed McCain did not vote on the bill. Could that be an strategy to grab some Obama supporters without actually taking a stand on the issue? In essence trying to have it both ways?
