that you've based your perception of Rev. Wright and Trinity church upon a few minutes here and there..little "bits" cobbled together from VERY carefully selected sermons of years ago..SPECIFICALLY to inflame and upset those who they know are too LAZY to research further? Aren't you even slightly concerned that you and a lot of others are, as "good" Christians, rushing to judgement, without having looked further into ALL the other things that the pastor and his former church have said and done..all the help and good works they have provided over the years to their community? Clearly you have not. Don't you feel just a little foolish, knowing that you are then considered among those "too lazy" to do this investigation..too willing to let others do your thinking and let them manipulate you like that? Wow! How sad. Have you ever heard of the Tuskegee Experiment, where 400 black men were "studied" for 30+ years, never told they had syphilis, but allowed to pass it on to their wives and unborn children..all so the Public Health Service of Macon County, Alabama could "monitor" how the disease progresses! This was straight out of something Hitler could have dreamed up, but done right here, in the good ol' USA! So..is that all OK with you, SandyDog..or does that not just make you mad as hell..enough to shout about it in church on Sunday? Well, I don't know what your church teaches you..maybe your pastor was Jerry Falwell..or is it Pat Robertson or John Hagee? They each teach hatred on a daily basis..hating the people of New Orleans, all Catholics..anyone who is different is "damned" to them..they've "damned" America on several occasions, at that! Yet, they keep constant company with the current president and his gang! That's OK with you, I guess. Maybe if you actually listened to what Obama said in his speech (or did you have Rush "listen" to that for you, too?), then got up off your superior, judgmental, lazy bum and read up on Trinity church (on THEIR website, not Rush's)..maybe emailed or talked to some parishioners..then listened to whole sermons..including the many that did NOT have these "sensational" bits in them..you might just get a different perspective..Heaven forbid! As to Michelle's "racist" remarks..she didn't make any, and you've clearly not used "reason", and certainly haven't exercised any "understanding" in your evaluation of what she said. Hasn't it occurred to you that she expects the best from her country, as should we all, and that too often..especially during the last eight years..we haven't been getting it! As the sum of her parts, America is not perfect..any more than any person is perfect. We've made a lot of mistakes over the years, and our saving grace is that we keep trying to adhere to the ideals and principles this amazing nation was founded upon, even when we've behaved less than at our best. Is America so weak we can't take criticism and learn and grow from it? You'd have us think so! As a white American (as you must clearly be), you really embarrass me. Barack Obama is not a hateful man, and you have some nerve telling him he should have left his church! I'm sorry, but it's you who should quit napping and pay better attention during your own Sunday sermons..because it's YOU, my friend, who is acting "hateful", and need to get over it..particularly in the spirit of the Season!
