They have taught me that the Democratic Party is nearly identical to the Republican Party. Both will trash, stomp, insult, and belittle anyone who doesn't fit with them ideologically, no matter what they have done for America. It's all about political ends.
I was horrified when the pukes were wearing band-aids with purple hearts on them to belittle the military accomplishments of John Kerry. I was disgusted when they tried to make Max Clealand out to be a traitor (the man lost three limbs in Vietnam for goodness' sake!) I thought my Party was opposite of them - caring, careful, considerate of the feelings and accomplishments of their fellow Americans.
Boy was I deluded.
Now I don't know where I belong politically. It's surely not with the Republicans (I'd rather put salt in my eye than vote for , but it doesn't feel like it's with the Dems anymore either. I think I've been born-again Independent.
and of course the obamaniacs respond in truly troglodyte fashion. I for one don't even feel at home in the Democratic Party anymore. I am not a republican and never will be, but I think I've been born again Independent.
You asked How is anything that happened to Hillary worse than the treatment John Kerry got from the press, which multiplied many times over the little investment the swiftboat slanderers made
Cause the other side was doing it to John Kerry. BTW he voted for the war too and the Party was fine with that last time around. Now it's the people who are supposed to be with us who are doing it. It was Democrats calling her names, slandering both the Clintons, bringing up ancient right wing talking points about her. It's been a wake up call, I can tell you that.
IF the money is right and they're paying for relocation, I vote for renting out the house and going to Cali for a while. This way you get to play it safe and have an adventure all at the same time. Seems like the best of both worlds to me.
As Salon has pointed out, bacon is the opiate of the masses in the US. Try free bacon, John. It can't hurt.
heh heh heh
I am still a reluctant supporter because I'm still fucking pissed about the primary, but more oratory of this caliber will bring me on board. It's a very level-headed and American message - "We are the ones we have been waiting for." It's about being your own hero. If Conservatives would allow themselves to listen with an open mind I think even they would actually like what they heard.
Very well done.
This is interesting at a macrocosmic level too, of course ... no matter who wins it will be historic.
Joe's just saying what everyone but obamabots are thinking.
I think it came off as fakey-politician-like too when he choked up. It was a black spot on an otherwise amazing performance. It really was the pinnacle of his career. I hope he's feeling good today - he did his ticket proud.
As for Palin, I'm astonished she's getting as good reviews as she is. She seemed lost, frightened at times, and pretty much incoherent. I found it hard to watch her twist in the wind like that.
Can we really be only one month away from the election?
I just love them. It's not hero worship - I have a few gripes against them both. However, they are still totally awesome and everyone knows it.
Kuczynski did not pluck some starving peasant from a village in Nowhereistan to make a baby for her. Everyone involved with this was consenting. Everyone made an informed decision. The surrogate's family clearly were okay with it and they were not motivated by financial desperation. Kuczynski's husband didn't mind indulging her obsession (I do not believe a man of his age with adult children personally wanted a baby as much as she did). So they're all happy. As loathesome as it is to see a snotty asshole sate herself in a way few of us can, the truth is they didn't hurt anyone and everyone went in with open eyes.
Oh and fuck her just on general principle.
LW, take it from me ... there are few miseries on this earth as hellish as living with a step-parent who doesn't want you.
You can't help how you feel and don't let anyone guilt you out about it. Reality is what it is - you don't want to be her mother figure. It can't be faked - you will crack cause it's not what you want.
But worst of all, that poor girl will be seriously hurt if you come in there without wanting her in the family too. Please don't hurt that young girl like that. She'll pay for it for a lifetime.
And why torture yourself either?
I don't know how many of her critics took the time to read "Living History". She is brilliant, hard-working, dedicated, compassionate yet able to be objective. Obama did the right thing in selecting her, and the senate will be right to confirm her.
The very best line of last season is when Margene calls Barb's sister and starts waxing poetic about how much she looooooves her super-special sister-wives. Barbs sister cuts her off by asking something along the lines of, "How old are you? These are not your junior high sleepover girlfriends. Grow up."
Bwaaahahahaha!
