Obama can do something for black people right now

And it will benefit everybody - disband the DEA, stop putting money into any kind of drug law enforcement and start funding drug treatment centers and forcing insurance companies to pay for drug rehab. He can end the Drug War, in which we haven't had a single victory since it's inception.

End the Drug War.

Why don't we just use purple ink

If the voters stuck their thumb in purple ink after voting, like the Iraqis, then we could avoid all this argument about voter fraud and live happily ever after.

Kenneth Katzman on attacking Iran

We tend to let the Muslims off the hook when they descend into fascism, and this is because we don't expect as much of them - in short, it's racist. If the Germans were running around chopping people's heads off, executing little girls and spewing fascist rants, we'd take it much more seriously and probably do something about it.

The Islamic World - particularly the Arabs the the Persian's political thinking descends directly from the fascism of the 20's and 30's of the last century. And some of them are building nuclear weapons.

I'm voting for Obama. And I hope he takes Iran to task. Iran is the absolute center of Islamic extremism and the reason Jews once again fear walking down the street in Europe of all places.

The Mullahs of Iran are evil, they're dangerous fascists, and they're building nukes. I have no problem with disarming them.

I can't get out of bed

Evil always triumphs. Low ball always wins. McCain will be President. My father never loved me. The string beans didn't come up this summer. The South will rise victorious. My wife doesn't understand me. My kids are worthless. Food holds no pleasures anymore. Everything tastes like dust. All of us are ultimately alone. The black guy's gonna lose. I can't get out of bed. I can't move my legs! Oh... Oh... Oh...

Why Obama has to stay above 50 percent

I guess the author of the above article will just have to take solace over the next week and a half through an abiding faith in America being a racist country. How very Republican.

An open apology to boomers everywhere

We boomers watched our heroes murdered before our eyes, three of them - John Kennedy, Medger Evers and Martin Luther King, by people who were brothers in spirit with the same crowd of haters who today are convinced that our new President is a Muslim terrorist, a baby killer, the anti-Christ, a communist, etc., etc.. The other two, Robert Kennedy and Malcom X were murdered by religious fanatics who happened to be a Muslim variety of redneck.

So now you know what's wrong with us - we're a mess, ever since we lost our hope. All I can say is, the Secret Service better do a damn bang up job protecting this new, great leader of ours. And we have to put a stop to Republican hate mongering which will create the same toxic environment that put off our great future for so long and instituted the pestilence of Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr. and his awful son.

Obama & the dawn of the Fourth Republic

I think a lot of Democrats (and Republicans) are going to be very surprised at some of the things Obama accomplishes. In addition to the things we hope he accomplishes - Universal Health Care, a real energy policy, fixing the economy and taxing the top 1 percent of the country who's holding 40 percent of the wealth until they turn purple - I think he's going to be one of the greatest, most successful wartime presidents in our history.

In his acceptance speech last Tuesday, Obama declared war on not just the Taliban and Al Qaida, but against all totalitarianists. I think he's going to crush our enemies, and when he goes to war he'll have the backing of the entire country, and not just the Bush/Cheney supporters, which will make his efforts a thousand times more effective.

I think he's going to build up our infantry, cut out the pork in the military/industrial complex, and make America's military leaner, meaner and way more lethal than anything Bush ever dreamed of.

Get ready. Obama has given no indication whatsoever of being a pacifist. He's an internationalist with a real moral grounding and a messianic personality. Mass murderers, genociders and tyrants should be trembling right now, but fortunately evil is stupid. I suspect they're going to get a very unpleasant surprise in Barrack Obama.

The momification of Michelle Obama

Well, who the Hell else is going to take care of those girls? The Secret Service? The hired help? Biden or Rahm Emmanuel? You want the President to take the kids to school and pick them up and take them to soccer practice and all the rest?

Do you want to see the White House become a hangout for juvenile delinquents? A place for pot parties and underage drinking? Somebody's got to watch the kids.

Conservative lies about FDR

One of the latest bits of wisdom being passed around on the sly by one of the High Priests from the cult known as the Republican Party is that if Obama succeeds in getting Universal Health Care passed, the American people will see the Democrats as the party of the middle class - ruining the Republicans forever. And all this talk about FDR prolonging the Great Depression by pumping money into the economy is just one part of their strategy to kill Universal Health Care.

Finally, a small majority now realizes that the Republicans do not now and never have occupied any moral high ground whatsoever. And it appears the pestilence of greed and incompetence they've inflicted on America is at an end, at least temporarily.

To consolidate Democratic gains, Obama needs to educate the American people who must be made to realize that it's no coincidence that all the bigots, all the religious fanatics, all the ignorant and low information voters along with all the greed heads are Republicans.

Republican pain is my pleasure

I hope Franken wins by a single vote, and the identify the voter who declares that he meant to vote for Coleman. This will cause more frustration for the Republicans. And when they suffer, I enjoy it. Their pain is my pleasure.
