  • @ Brian -- Rumsfeld had access to info we don't too, and where did that get him?

[Read the article: Give it up, Dick]

He said, "We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat."

Am I the only one who noticed that for Rummy the Dummy the WMD were EVERYWHERE? All points of the compass in fact! That's a lot of wmd, Syria must be awash! Let's nuke them! Obliterate them!

If you want to put your faith in a monster like cheney - go ahead. Don't expect, or ask us too. A perfectly good analysis can be made without resort to classified intelligence. If you look into it, you will see that most intelligence is gathered from unclassified sources.

Because of the lies anywhere from 600,000 to 1.2 million Iraqis died. If pigs like Cheney want to blow up Syria, I am sorry, I want to see his evidence.

  • Clinton strikes terrorist bases

Remember the "chemical weapons" plant in the Sudan? The one Clinton bombed just 3 days after the now mass murderer Clinton admitted to having an "inapproprate" relationship with Lewinsky? It was indeed a pharmaceutical plant that supplied half of the medicine for the Sudan, which was under sanctions at the time. Some estimate the number of "extra deaths" due to the lack of medicines in the 10's of thousands. Some will dispute this number, and I say go to hell, 1 dead person would have been too many.

I remember the bombing very well. The very next day CBC radio interviewed a British chemical engineer who was instrumental in the construction of the plant. I have never heard an interview with an angrier person. He said, that not only was it not a chemical weapons plant, because of the design it could never have been a chemical weapons plant.

It is clear to me at least that this is not a nuclear facility, Photoshop notwithstanding. The Syrians would have to be insane to believe that they could construct a nuclear plant out in the open. And they know very well that the Israelis would bomb them if they did.

But none of this matters. The United States and Israel seem to be planning a new adventure in Iran, and perhaps Syria. Every day we hear about Iran killing Americans in Iraq, the tocsin is sounding - again. The fact that there are big problems with the case is irrelevant, the objections will be on a web page somewhere, and the 'case' for it being a nuclear facility will blare from every telescreen throughout Oceania.

Acting on information that he said pinpointed "one of the most active terrorist bases in the world" and a plant that made agents for chemical weapons, Mr Clinton said he ordered the attacks not only in response to the embassy bombings but also to pre-empt more planned terrorist attacks on Americans.

The Clinton administration’s smoking gun was little more than a cupful of dirt that a “CIA operative” had scooped up in December 1997 across the street from the factory — 60 feet from the factory entrance and on someone else’s property. The CIA did not bother to test the soil sample until July 1998. Former CIA official Milt Bearden later observed, “Never before has a single soil sample prompted an act of war against a sovereign state.”http://www.fff.org/freedom/fd0410c.asp

And just in case someone wants to say, "but it was a WMD plant!" Even the mass murderer Clinton now admits it was all just a mistake.

U.S. Admits Mistake in Bombing Sudan

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Clinton administration will not challenge a lawsuit filed by a Saudi businessman, and has agreed to release $24 million in assets that the businessman, Mr. Saleh Idris, had deposited in U.S. banks. http://www.twf.org/News/Y1999/0507-SudanMistake.html

It's sick and bizarre that in the American press, among all the attacks on Mrs. Clinton, there is not a word about this spurious attack. Her confabulation about snipers during her visit to Bosnia is trumpeted, the needless, cold blooded murder of thousands, and the violation of international law, is ignored.

  • McCain's 'plan" to follow Binny to the "gates of hell"

[Read the article: John McCain's serious foreign policy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Aside from the fact that Bin Laden is dead...

McCain's 'plan' is as follows: bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, bomb Pakistan, bomb Syria. It's a good plan too, if he kills enough people, one of them is almost certainly going to be Bin Laden.

He is correct though, his plan will indeed lead America to the gates of Hell.

    Sounds serious to me.

"And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban.

But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became -- we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his al Qaeda killers anymore. And if we -- excuse me for a minute -- and if we find a training camp, we'll take care of it. Either we will or our friends will."
