Even James Tiberius Kirk would not, indeed could not, interfere in Afghanistan.
The Prime Directive may have arisen from the mind of Gene Rodenberry, but it's a damn good principle.
Your statement to the effect that "it's none of our business" is all I need to know about the validity of the occupation of Afghanistan. I can imagine some future time when General Obama decides to "take out" Canada, say to "save the seals" and the "oppressed French minority". First of all stay out of my country. Second, if you do come anyway, don't "stay awhile to help us" and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Oh, and meanwhile, we'll be up in the hills shooting you every chance we get.
Prime Directive, Starfleet's General Order #1, is the most prominent guiding principle of the United Federation of Planets. The Prime Directive dictates that there can be no interference with the internal development of pre-warp civilizations, consistent with the historical real world concept of Westphalian sovereignty. It has special implications, however, for civilizations that have not yet developed the technology for interstellar spaceflight ("pre-warp"), since no primitive culture can be given or exposed to any information regarding advanced technology or the existence of extraplanetary civilizations, lest this exposure alter the natural development of the civilization. Although this was the only application stated by Captain Kirk in "Return of the Archons", by the 24th Century, it had been indicated to include purposeful efforts to improve or change in any way the natural course of such a society, even if that change is well-intentioned and kept completely secret.
The warlords we champion in Afghanistan are as venal, as opposed to the rights of women and basic democratic freedoms, and as heavily involved in opium trafficking as the Taliban. The moral lines we draw between us and our adversaries are fictional. The uplifting narratives used to justify the war in Afghanistan are pathetic attempts to redeem acts of senseless brutality. War cannot be waged to instill any virtue, including democracy or the liberation of women. War always empowers those who have a penchant for violence and access to weapons. War turns the moral order upside down and abolishes all discussions of human rights. War banishes the just and the decent to the margins of society. And the weapons of war do not separate the innocent and the damned. An aerial drone is our version of an improvised explosive device. An iron fragmentation bomb is our answer to a suicide bomb. A burst from a belt-fed machine gun causes the same terror and bloodshed among civilians no matter who pulls the trigger.http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20091102_opium_rape_and_the_american_way/

Syringe (large one). Sedatives.
Where are they buried?
About the Russian intervention, he says, "We went there to help them."
I looked at him hard after he said that, as he is an ironic, somewhat cynical guy. But no, he was serious.
My tovarisch used to teach at the Russian war college, he is a smart guy, and that is what he believes.
Good intentions and all that.
Remember how Wes Clarke was told, shortly after 911, that, "we" are going to attack 5 countries? Well, those plans are still there, and they are being executed even as I write this.
Anarchy and chaos are but the tactics in this new imperial war; the strategy, as it has been for decades, is full spectrum dominance of the Middle East. Full spectrum dominance accomplishes several strategic goals: China is neutralized, Russia is contained, Israel becomes the regional hegemon, the Bush crime family makes a lot of money, and most importantly, Chthney gets to harvest the organs and the souls, lots of them.
It's becoming pretty obvious that the destabilization of Pakistan is on, and is going well. One might ask, what is the purpose of destabilizing Pakistan, a Muslim country with nuclear weapons? Well, even I think that the nuclear weapons in Pakistan are a problem. Forget Iran, who MIGHT get weapons, the Paks have them! Most agencies agree that they have around 100 weapons -- that's a lot. So what to do? Destabilize! Create a casus belli and then -- take them out. Unfortunately the only sure way to do that is with nuclear weapons. Nuking Pakistan's nukes, or at least hitting them with a massive bombardment of fuel aerosol weapons, and the lovely MOABs of course. The ensuing war and chaos will have the added benefit of kicking off the final battle between good and evil, or at least between the countries with oil vs the countries who don't. Our shadowy masters know that Americans will put up with a lot; but if there is no gas for the cars, well, that would be bad.
5 will get you 10 Obama sends in more troops, lots more! Any takers?
* No American funds please
When Harry Reid calls Lieberman, "my friend". Lieberman is a cancer in the body politic. No offense to cancer.
Where does he get all this power?
at mikemalloy.com does whenever he uses the word "whore" he adds, "No offense to sex workers".
What's next? Calling 0bomba a "war monger"?
No offense to war mongers...
Alex Jones may have never met a conspiracy he did not like, but he's better man than any of the shills, sorry, whores, in the MSM.
He's good, one of the best. Check his archives, he has the track record to prove it. He is actually an American, born in New York, but we don't hold that against him. Margolis is a former military man (served in Nam), and traveled with the Mujaheddin in the last war.
