  • Pentagon now admits the spooky voice on the tape may have come from elsewhere

The Pentagon has admitted that the "I am coming to you..." voice may not have originated with the boats.

Radio triangulation is as old as the hills, during WWII all sides used it to determine pretty much the exact location of any given transmission. Since I assume that Iran has more microphones on it than Britney, it is a certainty that the NSA has the GPS coordinates, and probably a picture of whoever it was that sent that picture!

And just for the record, isn't all this dissecting of videos, not believing the "official story" et al, etc a lot like 9/11 conspiracy stuff? Funny how one is ok to talk about but the other is not.

    Just a thought...

  • Curiouser and curiouser, now it's the "Filipino Monkey" that did it...

I swear, I am not making this up... LOL

In recent years, American ships operating in the Middle East have had to contend with a mysterious but profane voice widely known as the "Filipino Monkey," likely more than one person, who listens in on ship-to-ship radio traffic and then jumps on the net shouting insults and epithets.

Civilian mariners say the term stems from the fact that Greek merchant sailors perceive Filipinos to be a large portion of merchant mariners at sea.

Navy women — a helicopter pilot hailing a tanker, for example — who are overheard on the radio are said to suffer particularly degrading treatment.

  • So what's wrong with that?

"I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that."

    Britney Spears, 2003

    or maybe this:

"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."

    Louis Dembitz Brandeis

We are either with Brit or against her. You decide.

  • It's all about social control, not "terrorism"

[Read the article: Mike McConnell wants to track all Internet traffic]

Monitoring of the internet will never catch the professional terrorist or spy. They have access to advanced cryptography, steganography, and a whole range of subtle, essentially undetectable methods of communication. The average joe has none of these tools or esoteric knowledge, it is he who is the target, not Bin Laden, who sends his messages by hand.

What it will do though, is allow the permanent government to monitor ordinary Americans, to watch, read, and to listen. In the coming perfect fascist world, the government will have a file on us all. They will know which party you support, what drugs you take, how your health is, if you are cheating on your spouse, stealing from your work, or just checking out giantjugs.com. And what does that mean? That means they will own you.

America is well on it's way to being a totalitarian state.

  • The World's Thinnest Laptop!!

[Read the article: Apple's solid Macworld is kind of a letdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So thin so very very very thin! How thin? Try visiting the Apple site.

$1,799 gets you a 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo model, with 2 GB memory and an 80 GB hard drive. For $3,098, you can get a faster model -- 1.8 GHz -- that also packs a 64 GB solid state drive, which has no moving parts, and is fast.

Everything you want to know, (not really) except just how thin this wonderfully thin laptop is.

How about that car that has the best gas mileage in the world? It's blue, it had a DVD player, seats, four wheels, and it's really really cool. Never mind how many mpg it gets.

Oh, and LED's don't have "bulbs" they have diodes.

  • But he's Pretty, oh so Pretty

[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Perhaps the King would rather Glenn spend his journalistic (and I use that term deliberately) talents, on John Edwards hair - a la the rest of useless, bought and paid for, MSM.

Hey King (I know that you are reading these posts - ego boy) if you want to see how journalism is done, go here and listen to this: http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/index.html (Or just read ANY of Glenn's previous columns)

Anna Maria Tremonte of CBC's "The Current" does it old school, you know King, you shill, you twerp, you useless waste of journalistic space - the school you never went to.

You calling Glenn Greenwald anything other than a true journalist, is perfect evidence of your complete lack of "journalistic" integrity.

The horrific thing is that if John "bomb bomb" McCain ever makes it to the White House, (and he might) we can look forward to hearing a lot more from Mr. King in his new role as the White House Press Secretary. After all he sure worked hard for it.

  • King vs Paul

[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Watch King conduct an interview that is the polar opposite of his promotion of McCain. Watch this ill educated shill ask Paul if the President should get permission from Congress to attack CHINA! Watch John "the real journalist" King quote from, wait for it, an unserious unjournalistic BLOG (the Politico)!

Read the constitution King. Then go back to school for a while, then maybe, maybe, you can stand on a chair and try to kick Glenn's shins. Until then you should stick to Britney.

  • @Prof. Smith @Be Bop

[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Serious question. How is what Glenn does different than serious or "real" journalism? What is your definition of Journalism? Please answer in 500 words or less. Points will be deducted for misspellings and grammatical errors.

Sorry Bop, the Bill Owen, Campo, is dead. I am not dead. Some people regret this difference.

He is pretty though isn't he? I assume that is how he got his job, but then what do I know, I am not a journalist.
