Why this thread go "hijacked" by truthers

[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's simple. Deep down inside, most of the people posting here know, or should know, that despite Glenn correctly asserting this should be a big story, it is not a big story, and never will be.
Guy at the water cooler... "Hey, did you hear that the NYT is reporting that the CIA erased some tapes of a terrorist getting board watered or sumthin?" Other guy, "Nah, but how about Hilary's little sister, did you hear she got knocked up and she's only 16?"
America is clearly headed toward fascism, you already have a unitary president accountable to no one and a congress that is clearly part of the problem. Since 9/11 your freedoms have been taken - one by one by one. As Glenn has documented over and over, the press is complicit, cowed or on the payroll. The American people themselves are busy, tired and scared, not necessarily in that order. Glenn is even using the "O" word now (oligarchy).
The question, the only question, is how do we stop these criminals? For people like me, and the other 9/11 nut jobs, there is only one way - 9/11 truth. 1 million dead in Iraq? Who cares? Afghanistan? Are we still there? Waterboarding, torture - ho hum la de da. FISA - is that like VISA? Probably. Chris Dodd filibustering - who dat? What dat?
I see a lot of debates about Occam's by some obviously bright people, and I see a lot of other clever Trevor's using the full force of their minds to denigrate conspiracy theories, never mind that a lot of them come off as having scanned a few web pages snorting in righteous indignation all the while. But what I don't see is a serious discussion of the fct which is apparently not allowed at Salon's forum's which are populated almost entirely by "serious" people who refuse, yes refuse, to seriously consider "malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists...".
There are many many serious, credible problems with the official theory, like the rate of collapse, the iron micro-spheres, building 7, seismograph data, etc etc ad nauseum. Why is it so much to ask that we have another look at it? After all the attack was the beginning of everything, if not the beginning of the end. The pathetic lies of the 911 Report need to be raked over the coals. America spent more investigating Clinton and Monica (80 million) than it did on 911 (12 million). How is that possible?
As for the fallibility of Occam's ... remember last week when water fell from the sky? Occam would say it was a light rain shower. I say it was the oligarchy pissing on your head from the parapets.
There is only one way to take your country back, there is only one thing that will wake up the American people to the point where they will do what it takes to recover their country. And that is for them to be convinced of the truth about the attack on America, and the truth is it was inside job.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]The chairmen of the 911 commission are alleging that the government withheld information vital to their investigation. Okay. I can buy that. In this case the info is from a torture session.
What did I just say? A torture session - one put on by agents of the government. Your government tortures people. What other lines would they, did they cross?
Torturing, then withholding evidence - that's two crimes. So why not more? We have established a pattern of wrong doing and sociopathy on the part of the players. An inside job is just a matter of degree.
I think a big part of the problem is that people have trouble believing that elements in the permanent government could be so evil as to slaughter 3000 people for global hegemony. Since then they lied us into a war that has killed 65,000 (min) to 1.2 million (max) people. Sounds pretty cold-bloodedly criminal to me. Even the low number is a stack of bodies that could reach into the stratosphere - literally. Killing people wholesale is not an issue for these people, I think we have established that too.
We can and will go back and forth forever without getting anywhere on the inside job theory. But who here believes that this was a credible investigation? In the good old days (remember those) when a plane crashed the investigators would go to extreme lengths to reconstruct the plane and would review all the evidence. Remember Lockerbie?
In contrast, the 911 investigation reassembled no planes, the remains of the buildings were shipped to China and India, and the videos from the Pentagon, the nearby gas station and hotel are all unavailable.
Hani Hanjour is alleged to have executed top gun style maneuvers to attack the Pentagon, yet his former instructors say he could not control a Cessna! I guess we should just ignore this though, as Karssic tells us, "witnesses are unreliable". He has empirical data!
We have empirical data too. Traces of thermate. Iron microspheres recovered from the rubble (microspheres are important because of the temp. at which iron melts, too high for a kerosene fire). People used to say where are the engineers, the pilots, the scientists? Well they are all here now, but they are attacked along with everyone else who has the gall not to believe what we are told - BY THE BUSH GOVERNMENT!
It's not just this data point or that. It is the sum total of all the myriad contradictions, lies and impossible acts. We need a new investigation! That's all, just a new investigation. The Pearl Harbour attack had several going within days.
Back on topic, the two chairman of the 911 commission just said that they were lied to by the government. What other lies are there? Many.
