Harper is our Decider
[Read the article: Northern exposure]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A lot of Americans, when they think of Canada, think of the three m's - Mounties, Moose and Maple Sugar. We still have them, but now we have something new! We have our own "decider", Vice President, sorry, Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Harper, a neocon wannabe, elected with the help of Republican consultants, is working hard to destroy Canada as we know it, and remake it into a little America. His greatest hope is to be petted on the head by his lord and master, Bush. Our minister in charge of "Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness", (read Homeland Security) Stockwell Day, a former high school teacher, jet skier and all round moron, has a picture of himself and your dear leader prominently displayed on his office mantelpiece. Stock looks very happy next to his "friend" and co-religionist. He should be. Thanks to the conservatives, Steve, Stock and their friends in the American nazi party, sorry, Republican party, are well on their way to putting the oil sands into American hands and opening up Canada for American colonization. Canada has the second largest oil supplies in the world, more than Venezuela, more than Iran, and more than Iraq. Fortunately there will be no need to invade Canada, as Harper and his friends will gladly give it to you.
So it is no surprise to me that "we" are not being nice to resistors, "we" don't like them, "we" think that they should be in prison. After all this is a country that just found out that undercover New York city policemen were infiltrating peace groups in Montreal, and we had nothing, NOTHING, to say about it! Our press is becoming as controlled as yours, a huge chunk of our media are owned by one family, the Aspers, who are hard core Zionist Likudniks who never met an Arab who wasn't a terrorist, or terrorist symp. Everyday in the Asper press there is story after story about "the terrorist threat". Some of them are even true! We even have our own little mini Gitmo where we salt Terror suspects away on the basis of some fascist tool called a "security certificate" - secret trials, no you can't see the evidence, no you can't get out, never mind why, shut up! Sound familiar?
So please don't send us your moral, your ethical, your huddled wretches yearning not to kill children, "we" don't want you. It might make the decider mad, and you might start to kill us too.
Try Venezuela... it's warmer there.
Trudeau is dead. Sorry bout that.

Rosie "Left" Because She Asked Questions About 9/11
[Read the article: Rosie's view]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Of course Salon, as a good liberal gatekeeper, neglected to mention this. Saying nothing about 9/11 is the rule in America. Bush had nothing to do with it, it was not LIHOP or MIHOP, just some crazy terrorists.
Rosie spoke the truth and must be destroyed. No discussion of who should replace Rosie can be complete without a discussion of why she really "left". Rosie was fired, she did not leave.
So in that case who should replace her? Why Professor Steven E. Jones of course! He had to "leave" his job at BYU too, just a coincidence of course.

The Real iPhone Market
[Read the article: iPhone doomsters: Cracked screen, broken keyboard?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The real iPhone market will be in titanium cases to protect a phone that in real life I would smash, crack, scratch or scuff at least twice a week. I also predict that if the iPhone is a hit, (and sadly it will be) there will be a huge up tick in the sales of screen cleaner.
And no, you will not be able to see the screen in sunlight. What kind of people make calls in sunlight anyway? PC users?
The real question is will you be able make a call will riding a unicycle?

What Matter?
[Read the article: Bloomberg's ambitions]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What matter who wins? He, or she, will bomb Iran, then someplace else, and then someplace else after that. While they are bombing and because of the continuing terrorist threat, they will have to suspend even more of the few remaining freedoms that you have left.
I am not buying it anymore, none of it. What passes for democracy in America has become some elaborate Kabuki theatre, none of it is real, none of it matters; at least in terms of who gets bombed.
Why did the article make no mention of where Bloomberg stands on the Palestinian issue? Can't you at least pretend we don't know the answer?

Nukyoulear Weapons
[Read the article: Face of a psychopath]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Iran needs a bomb to ensure its national survival. You can disagree by saying that their national survival means nothing to you, or that they in fact deserve it for any number of reasons. Nonetheless any rational analysis would mandate that the Iranians acquisition of nuclear weapons for the traditional reason of deterring their implacable enemies - Amerisrael
I am from Canada, itself under an internal right wing onslaught, and I can say with certainty that when the middle east is on fire, and uninhabitable from nuclear fallout, then the eyes of America will turn North and you will come for us.
Our only hope for national survival is nuclear weapons. The good news for America is that we are not as smart as the Iranians and don't even have a program.
Of course if Vice President Harper remains in power, we won't need to defend ourselves, he will just give you our oil.
