• Rudy ordered the bombing of the Twin Towers!

  As a former NYer I had a hard time understading Giuliani's seeming popularity with the rest of America.

  He is a conservative only relative to NYC, in fact he is probably a liberal is most areas except crime fighting. He is probably closer to Bill Clinton on most topics, other than crime, than to any republican, esp. economic,

  But what, among things he did as a mayor, could psych a republican up to support him?

  He was hard on crime and reduced welfare (something Clinton also did). Reduced taxes although he claims credit for much more than he deserves since many of the tax cuts were originated by others.

  OTOH, he plays nice with Democrats. His personal life is a mess. He danced in drag in public while the mayor. Has been pro-abortion, pro-guncontrol and supported same sex marriage. His antiterrorism credentials are highlighted by 2 terrorists attacks against the WTC during his mayoralty and his judgment is questioned by his decision to place the city's emergency center into the WTC itself. He was mayor only for a few more months after 9/11, and it ewas Bloomberg and not Giuliani who has turned the city around after the destruction of the Twin Towers.

  Since his claim to fame with the rest of the nation is simply the fact that he happened to be the mayor on 9/11/2001 and he actually appeared on the scene of the destruction, it is especially scary that he in fact did very little as a terrorism fighter. He did not prevent the attacks, the second attack destroyed his "command center" which he placed into the line of the attack himself, and he has nothing to do with the recovery of the city.

  So why the support?

  Wait ... maybe it was not Bush but Giuliani who is responsible for 9/11 so he can run for persident! That's it! Now it is beginning to make sense!
