Small Town America On Obama

This is the best argument I've seen for doing away with the electoral college and having one person one vote. These people are either unintelligent, racist, uninformed, one issue zealots or fundamentalist bible thumping dupes. They are putting their prejudices and mental laziness ahead of their country's and their own best interests.

Undercover Racists

The aircraft designer Beard and the financial planner Stadler demonstrate that you don't have to be uneducated to let your racism allow you to buy into lies and cause you to vote against your country's and your own best interest. People like these two gave us the disaster of the Bush Administrations and are now apparently panting for more of the same to satisfy their bigotry. I'm a 73 year (white male) retired engineer and financial consultant who grew up in the deep south so I know the type well. Although the article didn't so state, I'll venture to guess both of these gentlemen are church going Christians.

By the way, Mr. Shapiro, why did you not point out the obvious lies about Mr. Obama instead of merely repeating them?

Should Zoltan Newberry Be Taken Seriously?

I've gone to the trouble to read a number of Zoltan's rantings and, assuming he isn't trying to be satirical, he must be more troubled than even the most extreme of conservative zealots I've read or encountered. He sounds more than a little like a mental case, perhaps paranoid schizophrenic ... the kind of person most people try to avoid if they see him coming. His postings are so outrageous that they don't deserve comment. There is a small little park called "bug house square" on the near north side of Chicago where people like Zoltan used to hold forth regularly. As far as I know, it is still available. Perhaps he would like to give it a rant.

Re: Blatant Hypocrisy

Mack,

You're too kind to Zoltan Newberry and shouldn't pay so much attention to his rantings. He must be a paranoid mental case and will only make sense to those with a similar problem. They all see a conspirator under every rock. He probably is off his medication.

Nazi Camoaign Tactics

Bernbart, you are exactly correct. Hitler gave the recipe in great detail in Mein Kampf. Bush's handlers used his methods with great success in 2000 and 2004. McCain may just get by with it in 2008.

What other chance does he have? The guy is a real life Captain Queeg.

RIChris II

RIChris, you have unwittingly been indoctrinated and victimized by a basic Nazi tactic. Hitler wrote concerning convincing "the masses".."they will lend their memories only to the the thousandfold repetition of the most simple ideas" [for instance, Bill Ayers, Al-Mobsour, Trinity Church, Acorn]. Apparently you forgot Muslim and Retzko.
