To anonymous 11:00 PM

Yes I do like some adult entertainment (porn and erotica). But no, I don't like the AXE image or over use of the N word (and I hate all use of the N word in which the the N word is not said within the context of poetic rap).

Actually

I thought Richard Pryor's attempt to pacify the N word was brilliant, and I could laugh with other African America comedians attempting to do the same. But I think it is inappropriate for white people to use the N word. No word should be banned, but the N word is a word that requires it be used very delicately and only within very delicate context.

To AKA Smith

You have such an elegant way of sizing people up, both when you talk good of them, and point out their areas in need of improvement. I wish I had such a gift (perhaps I will learn it from you). When I try to confront someone it typically comes out a lot more harsh than I intend.

That Some Pretty Serious Bull Sh*T...

That you are peddling, BS65.

You wrote:

"It is the most natural thing in the world for girls self esteem to drop on its own."

No, there is nothing nature about girls losing their self esteem, and it is the patriarchy that is responsible for most of the self esteem loss that women and girls suffer. Women are girls are bombarded with sleazy advertising that tells them they are too fat, and it has long been tradition to educate and program women and girl to believe that they are nothing if they don't have a husband, and that they are social leaches if they choose to raise a child without a man. Very little in western law, advertising, religion, and education is designed to promote confidence in women and girls, and to the contrary there is a lot of money involved and made by causing women and girls to feel terrible about themselves.

Sadly and surprisingly women and girls play a big role in causing other women and girls to feel bad about themselves, as mean spirited competition among women and girls is a characteristic that I often see expressed by women and girls. Also I have yet to see a woman's organization that truly is universally empowering to all women. I am waiting for the day that a women's political party with real teeth hits the scene, and there are signs that such an organization might develop soon.

But as much as women are a part of the problem, the problem started and lies within the patriarchy, and it will continue until all women finally work together to defeat it.

Disrespecting women has been too profitable for far too long, and all women should know that.

Sexy!

To Holly Capote

""Enthusiastic commenters" made me laugh!

Equality is sexy and that's the crux of feminism. Who would want to sleep with a subordinate, a child, or anyone else who isn't equal?"

I didn't like the way Catherine Price used the word enthusiastic, as I use the word to enthusiastic to describe women (or men) that express passion and desire in a non-threatening way. I would have used the word antagonistic to describe the commenters that Catherine Price was talking about.

I would never want to sleep with a child, or a subordinate under any circumstances. But what I do find extremely attractive, are strong willed, independent, self confident, powerful (typically slightly older) women. I got hooked on feminist women (actually few of the feminists girlfriends I have had ever told me that they were feminists, but they all fit the bill) quite by accident when I accepted the advances of a woman that later turned out to be my intellectual and emotional superior, and the fact that she was great in the bedroom was just an added bonus. Good communication and equal standing in a relationship is what is extremely sexy.

To Canuckistan Bob

"But then there are Republicans who are successfully & happily married to Democrats, so anything is possible I suppose."

I assume you are talking about Mary Matalin and James Carville, among other people. Can either person in that endearing and beautiful marriage be considered a feminist? Mary has kept her maiden name, and they named their first daughter Matty "Matalin" Carville, but Mary Matalin a feminist?

Still I have faith that eventually she will come around to our side (she's simply too smart to stick with neo-cons).

I hate saying this, but James Carville might make a good woman out of her. Actually Mary Matalin is a good woman, just on the wrong side of the fence politically. Any guess as to which side of the fence Matty Carville and Emerson "Emma" Carville will choose?

My apologies to anyone who might have been offended by this letter.
