"The semen of a normal man under normal circumstances isn't going to harm the woman."
So you don't see unwanted pregnancy as harmful to a woman?
Since reading this article, I have decided to name all one billion of my sperm, and have them baptized. Damn, I have A lot more than a billion.
Sentience refers to utilization of sensory organs, the ability to feel or perceive subjectively, not necessarily including the faculty of self-awareness. (As Defined by Wikipedia)
A human embryo, smaller than the period at the end of this sentence, lacking a brain, a neuro-net, a nervous system, and any sensory organs, cannot be considered sentient. Something potential is not considered actual. Ever cell in you body is potential cancer, but you would be a moron to request chemotherapy or surgery for your entire body, if you are cancer free.
sclatter, I hope you are not equating 5 day old independent fertilized fish eggs, to unplanted human embryos that its source owners have decided to donate to science?
It is so tiring to hear lame brains like you accuse the left of Fascism, and then criticize us for allowing Iranian President Ahmadinejad to speak a American University, even thought we disagree.
Let me make this perfectly clear to you and the other lame brains; the original Fascists, Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler, Spain's Falange, Portugal's Estado Novo, Hungary's Arrow Cross Party, and Romania's Iron Guard, all considered themselves on the political right. They were totalitarian, nationalists That wouldn't allow any discourse unless it was deemed by the fascist party to be nationalist in nature. Since we listen to you (correction, some of us listen to you), you can hardly say we don't allow you to be a part of the discourse. Do we question your patriotism? No. Have you been banned from posting letters at salon.com? No. Has there been an effort on the part of feminists to get you banned? Perhaps some would like you banned, but the vast majority does not want you banned, because though you are silly, paranoid, and often childish, you are not seen as obscene or a threat.
Stop accusing us of being fascists, because we do not support totalitarian nationalism, we do not ban dissent, you are allowed to post your silly, paranoid, often childish letters here, and from the political side of left everyone is encouraged to contribute to the discourse.
Also just because I think you are a lame brain, and I would rather you not persist with your silliness, paranoia, and childishness, I am not discouraging you from contributing here, because I think with 10 to 20 years of professional help, you might actually become a redeemable person.
I meant to write; "It is so tiring to hear lame brains like you accuse the left of Fascism, and then criticize us for allowing Iranian President Ahmadinejad to speak at an American University, even though we disagree with people like you that he (Ahamdinejad) is not a nice person."

I am going to hire an editor.
You wrote:

But yet you love to group feminists with Fascists and Communists. Perhaps love is the wrong word. You are combining your fear of Feminists with your fear of Fascism and Communism, despite the fact that Feminists have no similarities with communism or Fascism.
Lets makes a deal, if you stop attempting to combine Feminism with Fascism and Communism, I will stop associating you with anyone. In fact I will consider my pledge not to associate you with anyone as my good deed for the day to everyone, as I believe every individual person would take insult if I was to associate you with them.
Also I will work harder on posting letters without errors.
I have been working on a novel for over 3 years now, and I have rewritten every page of it, thus far, at least 10 times. Trying to put my thoughts into words, and my words onto paper (or onto text files) has never been easy for me.
I figured you were pro-choice.
Are you also pro government funding for stem cell research?
The arguments are pretty strong both for an against stem cell research. I understand the pro-life concern, in that they are afraid that women and girls that discover that they are pregnant could actually donate their unwanted embryo to science, which would be kind of like getting an abortion and getting paid for it. But what about couples that want to donate their embryos to science, rather then give birth to them, allow them to become snowflake babies, or simply destroyed? Few are going to argue that embryos are not the property of the couple that provided the sperm and egg, and that that couple should not be allowed to do whatever they want with their embryos. Every couple has good reason not to want their embryos to be raised by someone else, and they would have good reason to want their embryos to be used to help develop cures for a wide range of human ailments, rather than just destroyed.
And once a couple loses the rights to their sperm, eggs, and embryos, then that will open up the doors for very ugly legal precedent that would ultimately mean that our sperm, eggs, embryos, and reproductive abilities belonged to the state.
Why is it that lawyer Martin Palmer's (NAAPC) case is against the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), and not against the couples that donated the embryos?
