What the F!
[Read the article: The AP says Obama thinks genocide is no biggie]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Philip Elliott and the collective work of TEDDY DAVIS and LINDSEY ELLERSON (the kindergarten story) both printed misleading news about Senator Obama on the same day. Talk about a 1-2 punch from the media right.
I thought news reporting was suppose to be politically impartial, but apparently distortion of quotes and facts is all a part of the business. Senator Obama must make the righties of the news frustrated, because there is nothing that they can pin on him. Senator Obama didn't want to appoint a criminal to head the Department of Homeland Defense like Rudy did in his Bernie Keric suggestion. He didn't claim to be a varmint hunter or flip flop on his pro-choice stance like Mitt Romney did. And he doesn't live in the fantasy world where he believes a stroll in a market in Baghdad with a security force of 100 soldiers and 3 attack helicopter proves that the escalation (I mean surge) is working in Iraq like McCain did.
You know the righties in the news world are getting desperate when they take quotes out of context. For the record, as already noted, Senator Obama has made it clear that he supports education for little kids so that they can learn what is sexual abuse (age-appropriate sex education for all students), so that they can report it if it ever happens to them. And he said that; "We would be deploying unilaterally and occupying the Sudan, which we haven't done. Those of us who care about Darfur don't think it would be a good idea," which is to imply that occupying a nation with forces to prevent genocide won't work, and thusly is not a part of our military strategy anywhere. Genocide is a serious threat that needs to be dealt with through multi-lateral international pressure, not through more unilateral violence.
To be fair to Philip Elliott, he does represent Senator Obama correctly in his article, but the title of that article is what could be considered libel (which unfortunately is all that most conservative pundits will rant about). Senator Obama does not support appeasing genocidal regimes as the title implies.
TEDDY DAVIS and LINDSEY ELLERSON title; "Sex Ed for Kindergarteners 'Right Thing to Do,' Says Obama", is even more misleading and, unlike Philip Elliott, they neglected to point out that Mitt Romney told Planned Parenthood that he supported similar education in 2002.

Crime? I think the concern is linked to defense attorneys and gun control.
[Read the article: Prejudice in America]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The only reason I can think of for why the average neighbor would say that Democrats are more responsible for crime, is because defense attorneys and trial lawyers are big in the Democratic party, and they (trail lawyers and defense attorneys) give the general viewer the perception that Democrats are soft on crime.
However I doubt crime will be a concern when the average voter votes for the President, members of the Senate, or members of the House of Representatives. Concerns for crime are usually addressed by voters at the state and local level, or most likely through state amendments and propositions.
But... Democratic hopefuls should be watchful to avoid another Willy Horton incident, and should avoid gun control like the plague (most gun owners buy their guns to stop criminals, because they don't trust the government or local law inforcement to protect them, with good reason).

Winners?
[Read the article: Rudy calls half the voters "losers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Winners? You mean like, the North Vietnamese???
Yeah, the Republicans have done well on election nights since 1968, when we first saw the DIXIECRATES slowly solidify the South into an eventual Bible belt, neo-segregationist, Republican stronghold, but what successes have the Republicans actually achieved?
Over turning Row vs. Wade? No, thankfully America is still pro-choice.
Privatizing Social Security. Nope, thankfully our parents and grandparents are still protected.
Killing Medicare and Medicaid? Nope, they (the Republican politicians) are working on it, but the poor and elderly still have access to supplemental services that are vital to their health care.
Privatizing the school system? Nope, the Republicans are still trying on this one, but concerned, middle class, loving, parents, who want their kids to receive affordable education, are defeating such efforts.
War on Terror? I believe al-Qaeda has regrouped to their strongest level since 9/11, so we can't even give the Republicans this one.
Making the homeland more secure? The party that wanted to lease the security of our ports to the UAE (United Arab Emirates) certainly cannot claim victory on that one.
Balancing the federal budget? We had a balanced budget under President Clinton, but President W snuffed that out, so again the Republicans can't claim victory here either.
Iraq? Easily the Republicans sadist defeat, and its a defeat that will become more glaring if by some miracle a Republican gets elected to continue W's disastrous neo-con agenda. For the sake of our country lets deny the Republicans that miracle.
