Labor

I keep reading these letters, and I get the impression that women don't do artisan, craftsmen, or construction work. traditionally that was true, as in that just barely 50 years ago women really only had 2 options; go to college and do "career" profession work only, or stay at home with the kids. Today, of course, that's not so much the case. I personally know a few women that can put up dry wall. But, still most women either get degrees or they stay at home with the kids (not all women choose one of those 2 options, but most women do).

The former option seems to be the focus of this "The Times" report, and it insinuated that professional women are less capable of attracted men. We all know that's bull shit. Personally I think the reason why a lot of profession women are not married, is because they choose instead to have meaningful, non-marital, relationships. I am sure that if we did a study on what group was happier, married stay at home moms or professional women, we would find that both groups of women were happy or unhappy at equal rates. But I think women that felt they had no options are going to rate the most unhappy. Most people's happiness comes from a sense of control over their own lives. Whether professional women have trouble convincing plumbers not to be intimidated by them, should not be an issue that would deter a woman from pursuing her dreams. But really, if you are afraid that the plumber you have your heart set on is going to be intimidated, then tell him you are only a secretary. After a while I am sure the plumber will be comfortable with the fact that you make 9 to 10 times more money than he does. Every man will eventually become comfortable with your high salary.

To AKA Smith

Yeah, the lying recommendation of mine is meant to be comic (or rather kidding on the sly), especially since I am recommending lying down. The whole thing reminds of a play from the 18th century called "She Stoops to Conquer", which is about a rich heiress that pretends to be a bar maid to better attract the man that she likes, who is only attracted to barmaids.

After the gent discovers that his barmaid is actually a rich heiress, he still wants to marry her. The concept I was recommending was kind of the same; lie now, and tell the truth later, because no man in his right mind is going to turn down the woman he loves after he finds out that she is a lot more financially well off than he had originally thought.

The whole "The Times" report was pretty silly, and I find it hard to believe that a plumber in love is going to let an intimidation factor affect his libido or his desire to be with the woman he loves. Doesn't a woman's wealth only increase the challenge, and don't men love a romantic challenge? Or have men become really lazy?

I remember (or at least read about) the good old days when men were men, and they went to great lengths to win the love of the woman that they were crazy about. Apparently we have reverted to the caveman days, when men only wanted subservient women that they could take by force alone.

To Ghingis Can

"I did not touch her body (thank God) and I would appreciate it if she and her ilk do not touch my wallet. Fair is fair."

No man is an Island, Ghingis Can. If you want extract yourself from social responsibility, fine, but do us the courtesy of extracting yourself from the human race as well. Since you don't want to give mothers with small children WIC, then I don't want you to be allowed to drive on the roads that I pay for. If you don't want mothers and children to have universal health care coverage, then I don't want my military protecting you from terrorism. Since you don't want kids to get free lunches at school, then I want you off of the list of people that the police swears to protect. Since you don't want to care for anyone except yourself, then I don't want any of my tax dollars benefiting you in anyway.

Women's Party???

How come we don't have a women's party in America?

How popular is the women's party in Poland?

The gimmick provided by the Women's Party of Poland, doesn't bother me, as long as the women of Poland give the Women's Party sufficient support.

I have often argued that women should take control over the multi-billion dollar porn/erotica industry, as the industry would not survive without them (and if men were eliminated from the industry, sales would probably go up), and then use the industry as a political tool to promote women's issues (that's kind of what Larry Flynt is trying to do). If the Women's Party of Poland had sufficient support, then the women on the poster may have done something very clever.
