"I spend too much time here. I have actually cut back quite a bit. Posting at Salon interferes with the real writing."

Good.

I can't wait to read some of your "real" writing.

Though, I would rather you not quit salon almost entirely as I have.

It has been a while seen salon provided a topic worth sending letters to.

On this topic:

McCain's an asshole for voting against a bill that would have required health insurance companies to cover birth control.

And I was pissed that my insurance didn't cover the $200 cost of my wife's IUD. But I could get Viagra if I wanted, even though I don't need it.

Isn't preventing unwanted pregnancy a health issue?

I guess America (or at least Republican America) doesn't see preventative medicine as what should be a national health priority.

"As the Brits say, "Brilliant!""

Actually I believe it is the Irish that say "Brilliant", but I may have my stereotypes mixed up.

But I agree with you that the ad is brilliant.

"I mean who wants to date a teen with a child?"

Who wants to date a teen at all?

bernbart, I believe that is part of the point; these girls aren't interesting in dating, at least not while they are young. Basically they have decided to have children, and stick their parents with the bills, before they enjoy the liberties and excitements that society makes available to adults (when they are 21, their children will be 5).

Obviously these pregnancy pact girls put a lot of thought into what they did; these aren't accidental pregnancy. They may not have thought it all through well, but they knew what they were doing.

You can say whatever you want about the pregnancy pact girls, but they have a plan.

The outcome of that plan is going to be the next chapter in their story, and that will determine whether other girls follow their example.

When size might matter

The few times that my women (and gay male) friends have complaints about the size of their male lovers, was after they made the transition from a very large boyfriend to an average or small size boyfriend. And their complaint was more about circumference than length.

However, I have heard quite a lot of women complain about certain men being too painful to endure.

Generally speaking most women don't want those orifices stretched out, and most sex worker say they prefer average to small size clients.

My own personal length joke.

A few years back I was part of a team that was doing hydrostatic tested on the 50 foot fire hoses that the ship I was attached to was equipped with. I don't know if anyone knows what hydrostatic testing is, but its when you check hoses charged to 150PSI for leaks. If the hose holds a charge of 150PSI for 2 minutes, without rupturing, then it is consider to have passed the hydrostatic test.

Most ships in the US Navy are equipped with hundreds of 50 foot fire hoses, and the fire hoses have to be hydrostatic tested ever 4 years. Most ships hydrostatic test all of their fire hoses on the same day, and it is a very time consuming and wet process. On the new destroyers the flight deck is the best place to conduct hydrostatic testing, because the flight deck is long enough to fully extend the hoses, and the hoses can be discharged easily into the sea. The flight deck is the lowest of a destroyer's weather decks, so any water that gets on it will just flow off of the side and into the ocean.

After a passing hoses has been discharged it needs to be date stamped six inches back from both of its couplers. The problem was no one knew exactly how far six inches back was, and we couldn't find enough rulers for every member of the team to date stamp the hoses six inches back from their couplers.

One of the women of the team had a great idea for solving the measuring problem.

She got up on the aft missile deck overlooking both the flight deck and the pier, and screamed as loud as she could to everyone on the Navy base within hearing distance, "Does anyone have anything that is six inches in Length?"

To which some guy replied, "never measured it before, but I am pretty sure that it is at least six inches in length."

None of us, including the woman that requested, wanted to find out how long the man's item actually was.

I have never measured mine, the idea sounds sleazy, but I have never had a complaint, so I really don't care.

Sexual Overlords?

Juliebird, you're a married woman, so you should know better.

The male sexual overlord is an average size man (4 to 6 inches) who can keep a stiffy for over an hour, and has a quick recuperation time, and can get it up for any woman (or man if the case may be) on command.

The female sexual overlord is woman that gets a rise out of any man (or woman if the case may be).

Actually, every woman is capable of being a sexual overlord.

Of course if you are not a sexual overlord (male or female), you can make up any short comings with foreplay and/or personality.

Don't the line this guy is pretty damn conservative. Probably better suited for Sec. of Defense.

As Stephen Colbert would put it.

Chuck Hagel as Obama's running mate; great selection or grestest selection?

“Hi, my name is ____, and I’m a Hillary supporters.”

There probably should be therapy groups set up for the hard-core Hillary supporters to deal with their issues and frustrations, before they do something insane or stupid, like try to sabotage Obama’s campaign for purely vindictive reasons.
