@ Kasimira
[Read the article: Burqini creator hearts "Opus"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As a concerned citizen of the United States I will say that Islam is not my enemy, and I have no intention of making it my enemy, even if mad Sheikhs are supported by the Muslims. I didn't see a whole lot of outrage against the Neo-cons, the Western Media, and the Bush administration when they were spreading their lies about Iraq prior to the illegal invasion of Iraq, so is every Western man and woman responsible for the 100s of thousands of innocent Iraqi who have died and the millions who have been displaced as a result of the illegal invasion of their country?
I am not defending the mad sheikhs, and I never was, but Muslin women should not be blamed for them.
And yes Aheda Zanetti's clothing designs are chic, or at least I think so.
As far as the rest of your hateful comment goes, all I can say is 700 million Muslim women would disagree with you.

Reason Why I Suspect a Couple Would Want a Boy!
[Read the article: It's a girl ... please]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]BTW Thanks AKA Smith.
Here's is my list
1. Boys are more likely to go to prison/jail than girls are.
2. Female homosexuality is far less controversial than male homosexuality (imagine how much support Lynn and Dick would have given a son they had, if he had come out of the closet).
4. The single parents keeping the kid(s) are usually the girls/women. In the age of longer life expectances (and high divorce rates), future Grand-kids are more important to parents, and the maternal grand-parents are usually closer to the grand-kids than the paternal Grand-parents are.
5. Girls are more likely to take care of aging parents.
6. In the age where everyone wants everything designered, Girls are fun to dress up in accessories and fashion, where as dolling up a boy is seen as promoting homosexuality within him.
In short the feminine charms have become a lot more socially viable and appealing than the masculine one, and in the future the world (especially the Western part) is going to look a lot more feminine.

@ Kasimira
[Read the article: Burqini creator hearts "Opus"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Actually Kasimira I have spend a lot of time in Malaysia, and that country comes pretty close to being paradise. The minority Buddhist/Christian Chinese women of Malaysia seemed to get really well with their Islam Malay sisters.
Also as a white man who spends quite a lot of time at the beach, because the women in my life love to surf, I have been sunburned more times than I care to remember, and I have learned the value of UV protective water-wear clothing. I never let my 5 year go to the beach without a long-sleeve shirt on.
Vitamin D is important, but you can get that from other sources. Sunrays in general are not healthy, and having spent a lot time in the Arabian Gulf, I can understand why the natives in that region wear so much loose clothing (it never rained while I was there, and the sky was always blue, with a very bright cancer causing sun).

Opus on a Burqini!

@ Shadow
[Read the article: It's a girl ... please]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Actually Shadow, most of the doctors and engineers with high salaries I meet and talk to, are Indian (from India) and Asian (from China, Malaysia, Korea, and Japan).
Most Asian nations have very respected educational systems, education is a high priority in most Asian homes, and in America most of the Universities have disproportionate number of graduates from Far East Asian nations.
So your accusation that uneducated Asian/Indian men would not be appealing to white women may be true, but your insinuation that Asian and Indian men are not educated with high paying jobs is not true.

Alternatives to Sunlight.
[Read the article: Burqini creator hearts "Opus"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Cod liver oil, halibut-liver oil, and viosterol are all sources of vitamin D.
Sufficient vitamin D levels can also be achieved through dietary supplementation. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the preferred form since it is more readily absorbed than vitamin D2. Most dermatologists recommend vitamin D supplementation as an alternative to unprotected ultraviolet exposure due to the increased risk of skin cancer associated with sun exposure.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), infants who are breast-fed may not get enough vitamin D from breast milk alone. For this reason, the AAP recommends that infants who are exclusively breast-fed receive daily supplements of vitamin D from age 2 months until they start drinking at least 17 ounces of vitamin D-fortified milk or formula a day.[citation needed] This requirement for supplemental vitamin D is not a defect in the evolution of human breastmilk but is instead a result of the modern-day infant's decreased exposure to sunlight.
Straight from wikipedia.org. Avoid cancer causing sunlight if you can.

@ Kasimira again!
[Read the article: Burqini creator hearts "Opus"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kasimira, you appear to have good intentions, but I believe you fail to realize that 2 wrongs don't make a right, and that it is never acceptable to force you values onto someone else, even if you disagree with their values.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to protect yourself by assuming a position of modesty. I am sure that you can respect that the world is a very dangerous place, regardless of whether you are Christian, Buddhist, or Muslim, and by drawing less attention to yourself, you make yourself more likely to survive (I learned that lesson very well in my travels through the Middle East). The issue I believe you have issue with, is when modesty is enforced. However Most Islamic nations such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Nigeria, and etc, do not enforce the Hijab. And the Islamic women of those nations choose to wear the Hijab out a sense of religious piety. If you choose to tread on Muslim piety, you will be offending 1.4 Billion people. Why would you want to do?
I can understand your fight against mad Sheikhs, but please try not to expand that fight to include all of Islam, because that's a fight you won't win.
