I love it. I really, really do. It's going to get a lot worse again before 2012 :)
It's a real, palatable fear. You can even taste it. You can certainly see it. :)
A real, right-wing Republican has never, ever lost a presidential election.
I don't think her first 6 months in office will be spent with a bunch of talk and no beneficial actions like another president I know of who is in his first year. Perhaps, of course, his lack of experience has something to do with that. I'm sure he's getting on-the-job training. I'm also sure he won't genuflect to another king. We all have to learn. However, once you're in an important job is not the time to learn it.
Don't look at me. I didn't vote for him.
Why shop somewhere else and pay more for the same made-in-china stuff? It makes no sense to do so.
You can sit and type out "Fuck Wal-Mart" here all you want but if you're not typing that with a Wal-Mart receipt in one of your pockets, you're either a dumb ass or your bank account outweighs your common sense.
That $78 a month is pocket money, you know. Housing, basic food and clothes are provided by the state and the company they work for. Personally, I think $100-$120(US) would be on the high end of "ideal" for the Chinese who live in urban areas.
Like everything else here, even the story, it's just my opinion. :D
Wal-mart, Levi Strauss and all of us were better for it afterwards. Did you also read how Levi Strauss actually came to know simple things like how many pairs of jeans they had at any given time and where they were--all because of Wal-Mart?
I don't think lacking the signature stitching on the pockets and the red tag qualifies as "cheaper made" in the sense you seem to mean it. Wal-Mart's Levis are perfectly fine.
"Stop buying made in China crap..."
LOL
How? Where?
Names! Seriously! Tell me where you buy things more technologically advanced than a laundry basket that is made in America! Give me the name of ONE consumer good that takes batteries or plugs into the wall that is made in America and available just about anywhere.
K, your home is chocked full of stuff made in China and we all know this. We just don't admit it to some. If you choose to pay more for it that is your choice as illogical as it is. It's not logical for me to pay $140 for the same razor I can get at Wal-mart for $100. I can't afford to be a member of the elite, better-than-everyone-else class and I won't sit here pretending I can. :/
An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the man", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim.
The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject.
Also known as "Attacking the messenger."
Epic fail.
I fished the links for the names of the chemicals they're talking about and came up empty. So, I Googled and poured through the first 3 results and still came up empty.
It would seem the question everyday citizens should be asking is "What chemicals are we talking about?"
Are they really dangerous? Is it a snow job? Does it seem to you like something is fishy here?
Seriously. What chemicals???
Palinphobia will be your downfall. Mark these words. Your obsessive behavior is not pretty or cute and, above all, is not intelligent--it is cancer.
The fact that you CAN'T call it what it really is, taxpayer-subsidized health insurance, is killing it.
I don't buy bridges to Manhattan and I don't buy "healthcare reform".
Furthermore, stop lying to me.
Not a single one of you here who are in favor of Obamacare even know what it actually means. You don't know what it will do and not do or even how much it will cost us in higher taxes. You can't know these things. Most of the Senate and the House don't understand it.
Why are you in favor of it?
Can you give specific examples of how much this is going to remove from the pockets of healthy Americans?
What about Massachusetts?
How much is all of this going to cost?
Mr. Madden wrote a nice piece but, still, none of the real questions are being answered. Concentrating on a few silly things isn't helping ME AND YOU really understand what is going on.
How can you be in favor of something, to the point of launching baseless ad hominem attacks, when you don't even know what you're talking about? :)
Srsly.
Once again Camille comes rolling in to give these sedated simpletons a dose of reality that sends them into a frenzy of self-mutilation by text.
She actually almost (No, not quite.) makes them think for themselves instead of using the hive stupidity they have been indoctrinated into.
Camille is always fun to read but the Salon letters in response shame even SNL in its heyday. I laugh for days.
Thank you, Salon.
