@tailwind

Re-read your "Live and Let Live!" post again very carefully.

Now, put yourself in the shoes of those who are against homosexual marriage and you'll see they feel the exact same way.

"But, those are [their] ethics or morals whichever way you want to say it. Which I do not believe should ever be imposed upon other's around [them]."

"But, I find it even more offensive when people start imposing their ethics or morals upon everyone in the country. This is what I see those who [are in favor of] Gay marriage as doing."

"Because they find the practice [desirable] the rest of the country is supposed to instantly follow suit and [allow] it to please them."

"It's the same on numerous other issues like abortion, sex out wedlock, and birth control." Notice I didn't change any words here. *chuckle*

"But, most of the people [for] Gay marriage don't care about anything but that. They have to be some of the pettiest people on the planet."

Just saying. Don't take it personally. :)

For the Record

I don't agree with these executives getting these ridiculous bonuses. You can't let these companies fall into bankruptcy but, still, I don't really want to bail them out. Catch 22.

However, also for the record, it was all right there printed in black and white for all to see beforehand.

We have people here whining about things that are irrelevant such as labor contracts and jobs moving overseas. Don't you know the two are directly related?

We have a guy whining about having to move out of his house and blaming everyone but the person who signed the mortgage contract on the line marked "Buyer." That person was the one who made the biggest goof. Look up "sub-prime" and "variable rate." Didn't some part of you loudly ask the question, "WTF am I doing?" I don't want to bail you out, either.

The rest of the letters are all armchair lawyers talking about things they do not even begin to comprehend such as AIG being "beholden to the Government" and other nonsense.

The biggest thing I see everyone ignoring is the fact that you have ONE person to blame for all of this whining about where "our money" (Which we NEVER had a say in where it would go no matter where that was.) is going. That would be ObamaINC. You know, the man who spent more of the money we don't have in one month than the last president spent in almost his last three years combined.

So, cry about what AIG is doing. All you can do is cry and it's the first and easiest thing to come to mind to do. However, let most of the blame fall where it's most deserved.

There's a quote that I don't know precisely or even who said it but it goes something like, "New Conservatives are Liberals who have been mugged." Well, pull out your wallets. This is a holdup.

It's exactly what you wanted. You all said so here many, many, many times. "Live and learn" is a less thought-provoking way of saying "Learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them." It's also called gaining wisdom.

We should be gaining a LOT of wisdom these days.

I Was Wrong

I thought it would take a year or so for ObamaINC to start churning out conservatives like a greased assembly line in overheat. It took him less than two months.

While I don't agree with AIG execs getting these bonuses under the circumstances, I do agree with the prior-known contracts that gave them the bonuses. They should have given them up voluntarily. However, how many of you would give up $1 million or so you legally had coming to you?

After the stink over this the Government attached strings to the automakers' money. I also agree with that. Those people make a lot more money than the rest of us working at Wal-mart and McDonald's. I feel no sympathy for them losing a very small amount of money.

The Feds didn't raise much of an eyebrow because they know what the word "contract" means. But the public's reactions have made them RIGHTFULLY rethink future similar transactions.

Can you see us turning into fence-sitting everything-will-be-ok-as-the-world-crumbles-around-us-don't-worry-take-a-holiday Europeans yet? This is what you want, correct? Double digit unemployment (This is NORMAL over there.) looking more rosey now? Ready to subsidize everything because we're going to be taxed so hard no one can afford anything anymore?

Why have you so suddenly stopped whining about Federal spending even when Obama spent more in two weeks than BushCo spent in the last two years?

Do you have any idea what he spent it on? Congress doesn't. Maybe we should ask Joe?

Remember, you wanted this!

I told you so.

@lmnopr

"Putting the two companies together in your story is nothing more then a feeble attempt by a so called journalist to manipulate the facts for an agenda."

Well, you just described Salon.com. That is what you get when you come here.

I hope you don't come here for "news" like some do. What you get here is something called "opinion" and the two are completely different. News is, at least semi-loosely, based on fact. Opinions are like assholes; everyone has one and they all look different.
