droogoy, your bible is quite a bit different from a christians's bible, isn't it? I find it amazing that some of us talk as though we know everything about everything even when they know we don't. You made your statements as fact even when the writer himself does not.

Bluejay1776, I can take a handful of dried corn kernels and put them in a pan with oil and turn them into something entirely different-looking and even more wonderful. My real question, however, is how are your cats and microbes relevant to what Darwin talked about? Seriously.
---
zepgirl, transitional fossils would have to be every single fossil we have ever found from any era. Think about it. That includes every single living organism today. Busily on its way to becoming something else.
How you can surmise I'm a creationist from what I have written is beyond my comprehension. Creationists do not believe evolution is THE way everything got here and neither do I. That makes me a creationist? Do you really believe it is either/or? If so, why?

My biggest question about evolution is does it pop out new types of animals at the end of a work day or what? What is it waiting on now? What the hell WAS the Cambrian explosion, anyway? Wasn't that the most remarkable thing? Something so completely without any real explanation makes me think. Doesn't it you?
On one hand you have people who believe in a burning bush that wasn't consumed although no one has ever seen this happen. On the other hand you have people who believe we descended from apes even though there is no proof of this and no one has ever seen some sort of animal evolve into some other sort of animal.
Meanwhile, both sides are in trenches taking potshots at each other for the simple reason that it is at a point we commonly refer to as a stalemate.
"Well, I believe in God because these books say to." "Well, I believe in evolution because these books say to."
Where's the proof of either one? Why have faith in either one?
Bah.
I'm an agnostic in regards to both of these religions. Both REQUIRE "believing" ONLY in their tenants. Pay no mind to what you actually see with your eyes and pay no mind to what every one of your ancestors have seen with their eyes.
Perhaps one day we'll find out how we actually got here on this planet. Until then, I think everything should be laid on the table. Some alien species seeding the Earth with life is JUST AS PLAUSIBLE as either of the other two. We have just as much evidence for that as we do the other.
By the way, I think a lack of transitional species is a hole in the theory of evolution you could fly ten 747s through and yet it is just laughed off by those who have no hope of explaining it. I guess random evolution isn't so random?
As for me, when I see some guy take 2 Subway sandwiches and feed a thousand people or see a hippopotamus turn into a giraffe I'll believe in one of those religions. Good enough?
Don't get me started on global warming. *smile*
My point is that to believe in either one without proof pointing out that either are true and the-way-it-actually-happened is absurd. Especially when you believe in it to the point that you deny any other possibilities. Neither are science.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
Imagine my complete and utter lack of surprise when I saw this major's name.
"Want to curb population growth? Works towards things like a global minimum wage and gender equality and access to birth control. Giving people the basics of survival and women their freedom are the two biggest factors that contribute to a naturally curbed population growth."
Sounds to me like you're advocating a massive world war. Otherwise, your "solution" is a total fantasy which will never happen.
"At the same time, developed countries need to end their hogging of the world's resources, and work towards their own sustainability. We need to retain being a developed country, but use the resources of an undeveloped one. It's very possible to do, it just takes the will to do it."
Ah, it's clearer now. A massive total world war where the West would be the victor followed by good, old-fashioned imperialism. Can you think of any other _possible_ way your scenario would become reality?
Somehow, I don't think subjugating half of the world is the answer. Of course, I don't believe in the question, the point of the interview, in the first place. The very term, "Save the planet." is ludicrous and has no basis, whatsoever, in fact.
It seems you made a conscious decision to partake of an activity that was not allowed in your place of employment and was caught and terminated. Furthermore, you knew very well it wasn't allowed and yet you made that decision.
Now you're trying to blame something other than yourself for the problems it caused?
Don't you find that...odd? You have no one or nothing to blame other than yourself. Welcome to reality. Perhaps you have gained some small wisdom but it appears, from what you have written, you have not.
