That may well be what he/she meant--but thats not what he/she said. He/she said that people aren't having kids because it has negative economic consequences.

I pointed out the stupidity of such a remark, since the areas where population growth comes from are poor, 3rd-world countries.

(BTW--nice of you to infer that anyone who disagrees with you is a racist. When you're getting your ass handed to you in an honest debate, might as well try to throw that one hay-maker that can save your title as champion of salon letter-world.)

To first-world elitists, having huge pools of unskilled, desperately poor people as a cheap labour source is a great thing. You can move to most 3rd world countries & hire a personal servant for about $5/day. & those clothes you're wearing that you got cheap at TJMaxx?? Guess how much the 25 year old Vietnamese woman who made it makes in a 16-hour day?

    Wow--I'm way OT..carry on

[Read the article: Is Jeri Kehn Thompson too hot for the White House?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why are people so obsessed about who other people are f**king?

Fred Thompson is rich and famous and powerful. Guess what, alot of women find that very sexy and throw themselves at men like this. A guy with enough money can get a hottie. Period.

You can pretend that is not the case, but of course it is.

Think I'm wrong?? I seem to recall 325 year old J. Howard Marshall getting a pretty cute chick.

Well speaking as a guy I would most definitely prefer a relationship with a woman who doesn't screw every other guy in town.

    Call me crazy.....

    And??

You want me to go to some man-hating-feminist blog on the internet and use some selected quotes from it as a representation of how women think?

And that would prove what, per se??

That there are alot of crazy people filled with hate in the USA??

Like I didn't already know that.

  • Lets be realistic

[Read the article: Carding on the catwalk?]

If a girl/young woman from an average or poor family has a chance to make big bucks as a fashion model at age 16, who are you to tell her she can't?

Yep, the designers & whomever insist she look a certain way & be at a certain weight and her career is probably very short and so what? She has her chance to make big bucks. More than likely she'll NEVER have a similar chance again in her life.

Not everyone has the intelligence to become a brain surgeon. In fact very very few people do.

It's really not unlike a 20 year old man taking roids for a chance to play a few years in the NFL. He knows more than likely he'll not get a chance to make that kind of money again.

Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you better go for the brass ring when you have the chance.

    Packwood is a republican.

But then, you already knew that.....

It always amazes me the lies republicans will attempt to get away with--to see if anyone is watching.

And they'll tell the most outlandish lies. Lies that are easily disproven.

Elephantman, stick with stuff no one can ever disprove--like Clinton murdered Vince Foster. That's an oldy but goody the Republicans still like to drag out when things aren't going well.

#1 - This type of law is just another bubble-wrap big-sister law the left loves to enforce on others whom they consider too stupid to make their own decisions (ot that their parents are too stupid). Doesn't help anyone. But it sure makes them feel good & self-satisfied.

#2 - Anorexia. Look around you. Do you really think anorexia is a big problem?? Jeebuz, there is an EPIDEMIC of OBESITY! Why don't you get all concerned about THAT?

of course corporate america wants women in the workforce.

It doesn't take a statistician to figure out that the more people who are in the workforce, the lower the wages will be.

Hello. Despite what they may say from time to time---Republicans LOVE feminism!

"Don't you love these salon conversations that end up veering off entirely on a different subject--usually a rant?"

It's what makes this place a nice place to amuse ones self while bored at work.

I certainly wouldn't wanna see the same namby-pamby ideas expressed by every letter writer.

Have fun with this & lighten up a little, will ya??

  • My Experience

[Read the article: "Real Estate Rookie" tells all]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I purchased the home I now live in several years ago.

I didn't know didly-squat about real estate so hired an agent thru century 21.

My real estate agents did nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada.

I found a house I liked & could afford just driving around on my own since my real estate agents (man & woman team) were far too busy to actually show me anything.

These two got their commission for doing zero-zip-nada because it was in the contract that even if I found a house on my own they would get their commission. The sellers agent did all the paperwork for the sale. I repeat--my agents got their 6% for doing not one gawd-damned-thing.

I will never ever ever hire another real estate agent. Before I sell my home I plan to take enough real estate classes so I know enough to do everything myself, since more-or-less thats what I had to do this time.

So yeah--I agree with the LW upthread that most real estate agents are scum.
