I understand the fustration of this blog post but really we have to put some common sense back into this debate. Just because Bush in insane, Democrats in Congress do not have to be the same way.
I hate the Iraq war, not just because we were lied to, but the damage we all will be paying for the next two or three decades but honestly we cannot leave - the resulting chaos will cause at the very least global economic fall out.
I hate this fact just like most of you but it is reality - this F--- mess will be with us for a while.
I love Obama but he does not have the experience to deal with an instant foreign and domestic economic policy crisis. And while I do not agree that the Presidency should be shared by two families for 16+ years - we need to get real about the dangers of another GOP/neocon presidency.
The issue of domestic spying, if Democrats take on Bush he will dare them to impeach him - this is where this is going. Now I hear the cheers - but honestly can we really survive an impeachment process with someone like Bush? Who clearly does not have Nixon's good sense to leave the presidency rather than take the country down with him? We are dealing with a man who sees himself doing God's work and will not hesitate in my opinion to at least delay the next election if it suits his purpose.
We are 18 months? or so away from an election, that should be our focus. Third party in the long term but this next election we need to put on our blinders and vote for a nominee who can beat the Republicans.
They will eek out another victory if we "whips" stay home and refuse to vote because we did not find our true love.
"@jncc1701 ...we need to put on our blinders and vote for a nominee who can beat the Republicans. They will eek out another victory if we "whips" stay home and refuse to vote because we did not find our true love."
Bullshit. People blindly voting for democrats no matter what has led to a party that spits in the faces of its base. Electing a democrat who will vote the same as a republican is a Pyrrhic victory at best. I'm not looking for a "true love" at this point, but someone who could manage to stay faithful and not abuse my trust would be nice.",
I hear you don't get me wrong - voting the lesser of evils suck but....
...get ready for Prez Rudy and more neocon wars of liberation.
Ellen violated an agreement she signed with regard to this dog. She was free not to sign it or get a pet from another rescue. I really wonder if she was fit to even have the dog given she clearly did not read what she signed.
So this article is off base.
I have three dogs all of whom are rescued the sleep with us every night - never outside for some bored kid to use as BB gun practice.
But I do think we are confusing two issues. Some rescues do have crazy rules, but they tell you about it up front. If it bothers you go to the local animal shelther for your pet or an agency with less rules.
Ellen violated an agreement the clearly instructed her to bring the pet back to the rescue group. Makes me wonder how she could not have known in advance that a hyper dog would bother her cats.
She also had no business taking this public if she truly cared about the dog rather then just wanting her way or better ratings.
Bush did tell us what he planed to do all along. Remember the Axis of Evil?
The only reason North Korea was not attacked (besides the military being bogged down in Iraq) was its development of nuclear weapons. this is why Iran is trying to hard to get them.
The point all along was to get a foothold in Iraq (supposedly easy since it did not have a standing army to speak of) then use this to get to Iran there by allowing for Middle East peast since Hamas, and Hezbollah would have lost their biggest sponsor. Of course to pull this off would require the political genius of the Founding Fathers along with the military ability of Alexander the Great. Bush has neither.
The devil was in the details.
...but we want to give asylum to illegals from Mexico? this woman should just fly down to Mexico and illegally cross the border then all of the lefty liberals will be clamoring for her to stay.
Don't get me started on the stupidity of comparing circumcision to getting one's clit cut off.
The bottom line is this - who is making the big bucks?
"Normal" journalism is on the wane and these guys are looking out for their wallets. It is obvious that the right takes care of its people and pays well for this kind of "marriage under attack" nonsense. Williams will be courted by Fox and given some insane contract to go over there to spew more of the same.
Think of it,
If Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, and Denish D'Sousa (who just published a most stupid book on Soren Kierkegaard's defense of the existence of God) wrote balanced scholarly books who would know their names.
This is the world we live in.
Right wing punditry is a franchise.
