Except for all the dead people.
[Read the article: Don't be a morose teenager]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I love Garrison keilor. I remember rolling on many roadtrips with my father, an old school democrat, listening and laughing. Now that I have grown up I have gone back and listened to your books on CD and stories and I find them so beautiful and poingnant. I live in Minneapolis and I see the truth of his writing and the understated intelligence and veracity of your writing around me all the time. I just can't go along this time though. The reason is that people and nations have been broken on the wheel of this administration. It is still up in the air whether we have survived. Our first mistake was the 2000 election and it has not been repaired. The media is still the same and there doesn't seem to be a way back for many people who have swallowed the loss of civil rights engendered by the last 7 years. In Minneapolis where I live Critical Mass riders who have been riding for years were tazed, beaten, maced and arrested for "taunting" the police. This is of course preparation for the RNC. A young man was tazed in florida. Some people think it is funny. People are being held and tortured in nameless black holes as i type. Then there are the dead... the long grey lines of known and unknown dead. I am not a christian. I don't believe in ever after. They had one brief glow of life that was snatched greedily from them by vicious organizations and calculating men. We still have "Miles to go before we sleep"
But thank you for trying Gary, I love ya buddy. Keep writing.

He shouldn't be so down
[Read the article: "I'd hate me too!"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey I saw your album and had to grab it. Never was annoyed and loved your sound. The marketing was over the top but they were really great songs loud.
great movie music too. Speaking of which the Patti Labelle cut on Miami vice sound track was awesome. Had it on repeat driving through the rockies and it was sweet.
I have been listening to the new one and it certainly has the sound and is solid. I only skip a couple on the whole album. It is nice to still get the beat and the wash of sound without remembering that movie, commercial or rap feud.
I hope he keeps creating since it really is a unique sound. I can pick Mobys' sound out

Hey JackSmith
[Read the article: Bill Clinton's Golden Oldies act]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh I see it's cause I'm an idiot that I don't like nepotism and dynasty building not because I believe in democracy.
Are you saying that if the Clintons don't win then we won't get the benefit and aid that they can provide on all these issues.
I'm sorry to say that I have a more charitable view of the Clintons than you do and I believe that they will help Obama accomplish these things because it is the right thing to do. And if they don't screw em. The time to change politics is this election and we don't have time for incremetalism
Love the Clintons, check out Bill's speech for Martin Luther Kings widow , Coretta King as an example. But I don't think it makes someone an idiot to believe that someone else could lead.
The Clintons are not the democratic party and your message and tone is repellant to me.

Bored by those bored by Dylan
[Read the article: Tangled up in Dylan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This could be an interesting read though I have to admit I am one of "those" guys sometimes. It is hard to overstate what great traveling music he makes. Women like her were made to humble great men and I am looking forward to reading this thanks for the article.

See I told you so
[Read the article: Keith Olbermann apologizes for his Clinton remark]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You could have just left it like that. If you think keith is sexist skip the self hating and just don't watch him and spare me an article about how right you were last week.

Ah the irony
[Read the article: The company he keeps]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The irony to me is that the reverand is angry and getting payback precisely because Barack distanced himself by not having him on his campaign or introduce him when he announced his candidacy.
The fact that Barack had shown this judgment has been completely lost in the conversation.

The surprising issue from that fateful superbowl
[Read the article: Janet Jackson's boob freed]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Everybody forgets that the group Moveon was not allowed to run an advertisement critisizing the administrations deficit spending during that broadcast. They also refused to allow PETA to show an ad.
This of course points to overall control of message which even the NFL apparently is part of. Here I was thinking you could be a democrat like football. The whole boob controversy blew the whole story of the ad off the air - thanks to MTV, who sponsored and planned the halftime show that year for the first time.
Obvious manipulation and in the end it was apparently free, penalties postponed til the issue of NFL censoring was lost in the clamor and the FCC meandered its way to letting the corporation keep it's money.
