The "biology is unfair" argument can come back to haunt you
[Read the article: Should men have to support children they father but don't want?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you believe in a woman's right to an abortion, you may want to avoid using a biology-is-destiny argument to justify the double standard in reproductive choice. As Camille Paglia has noted, every abortion is an act of defiance against nature, which seems to want us all to be fertile. Women don't have to resign themselves to biology; men shouldn't have to, either.
This inconsistency is part of a pattern. Almost every argument against this lawsuit mirrors an argument against the right to an abortion:
"Keep it in your pants if you don't want to pay child support!" vs. "Keep your legs together if you don't want to have a baby!"
"Men don't need this option as long as they have condoms." vs. "Women don't need the right to an abortion as long as they take the pill."
And on and on.

MCB, you make my point for me
[Read the article: Should men have to support children they father but don't want?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you want to go by nature, then no one would ever use birth control - after all, sexual activity is designed by nature for reproduction....I think we're well past the "let's go natural" argument in our civilization.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

Be careful with your authoritarian rule!
[Read the article: My son, the stranger]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If I were you, I would be careful with that "Families aren't democracies" shit. It's appropriate for little kids, but not for teenagers. I still don't know how to forgive my father for saying it. I'm 35, and he died almost 10 years ago. I think of the son of a bitch as the devil's daily breakfast--and I want everyone who knows me to know that.
"Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to God."--Benjamin Franklin
Pardon my racial insensitivity, but teenagers are the new niggers. For more on this subject, I recommend The Teenage Liberation Handbook, by Grace Llewellyn.
