OMG, Elephantman, You and Chuck are right!

It's those Democratic Tax cheats who, by screwing America out of a couple of bucks, have caused unemployment to head towards 10%, outsourced our military, and privatized our constitution. Since they hid their money so well, I suspect they also know where Sadaam's WMD's are. Obama's been in office, like, three weeks, and the economy STILL sucks. Let's go back to the good old days of the Bush administration.

Why bother to "earmark" all that cash on "Pork"? That's, like, regulation. Let's just approve some money, divide it into neat stacks of 1 million, and leave it on the doorstep of each one of those most valuable bankers that got us all fucked in the first place.

C'mon GOP...

Stand up! Say it loud, say it proud!

After all, we can afford to lose all those valuable bank CEO's, with all that institutional knowledge. If they left, the banking system might fail, or something.

When Obama stands up and faces down the GOP...

His ratings go up.

Let that be a lesson to the Dems.

It's been a few years...

...Since I saw Brazil, so I can't remember the details. But as I recall, the main charectar (Sam something?) is the upstart, the rebel, the one who asks questions, the necrophiliac...And he dies (or is otherwise rendered immobile)at the end of the movie. By the government.

The ends justify the means. That's why the NR guy likes it.

This is so true!

"Try to balance your assessment of the beleaguered democracy with an assessment of those who send their children to blow up other children.

We really need to give the incipient, struggling democracy of the Palestinians a chance, without resorting to calling them terrorists.

And further, without neighboring nations with compulsory military service training and arming their children, and sending those children to kill the children of these self-same neighbors.

Instead of attacking with arms, simply lend a hand.

Side note to Baldie: I eat eggs. I loooove them little bitty chickies

Gettin' it done.

"Rahm, you see, is -- as his good friend Stan put it -- "not an ideological Democrat. He’s not ideologically liberal. He comes out of Chicago politics, which is more transactional." He gets things done."

Not only is he not an ideological Democrat...Turns out he's not even a Democrat. That's Chicago politics - Charge-ahead, elbow-tossing, throw-your-mother-under-the-bus to get your way style. Getting things done is hard. Not only do you have to be transactional, you have to be cross-mediated, inter-wired, meta-portal, posi-tronic, post-particle, past-perfect, and pre-syntactical.

Why are these people are so eager to reach across the aisle, while turning their back on Dean, and those that brought them to this dance?

Name your source!

I learned this week that -- along with Democracy Now's Amy Goodman -- I've been named as the receipient of the first annual "Izzy Award for special achievement in independent media"

From who did you learn this? Inquiring minds want to know! Especially since you spend the entire first part of your post in obsequious prostration to the man, one wonders how, exactly, you came to (a) know about the award in advance, and (b) be considered for the award in the first place.

Do you see how failing to provide your source throws doubt on the whole award process? The whole validity of the thing? Are you really getting the award, or are you just trying to draw attention to yourself? C'mon, Mr Greenwald, name your source for this information.

But if it's a secret, how do you know it's wrong?

If you have done nothing wrong, then what do you have to be afraid of? Let's have an open discussion, maybe I can change your brain..err...I mean mind.

From The Germs:

Standing in the line we're abberations

Defects in a defect's mirror

And we've been here all the time - real fixations

Hidden deep in the furor-

What we do is secret-secret!

We're influential guys for the D.C.C.

We can lie so perfect

And we've got a party line to every call

It's a very short circuit-

What we do is secret-secret!

Licensed to drill with the torch in our lives,

Walking on shallow water

Progressed to the point of no distinction

Dementia of a higher order-

What we do is secret-secret!

"Since the contracts are secret..."

How can these be kept secret when We the People now own their ass(ets)?

Dan Quayle, master of his domain...

With all that experience, I would have expected him to be...relevant? Smart? Nobel-prize material?

NOTA.

Watchdog Journalism

Sit. Stay. Beg. Roll over.

Good dog.

Spin Cheney, Spin.

"But the key, I think, is the extent to which they fix the problem with the financial institutions in the society. That is a federal government responsibility. It’s the banks, it’s the Federal Reserve, it’s the FDIC, it’s all of the financial regulations and management of our currency that is a federal responsibility."

So, all those banks and insurance companies failed because there was too much regulation? Not sure what he means here. He doen't know either, probably.

"The president, rightfully, I thought, rejected that and said, look, this is what I ran on. We’re going to improve our military capabilities, we’re going to cut taxes, we’re going to do No Child Left Behind, and we did it."

Military capabilities under Bush: Reduced

Cut taxes under Bush: Ruined economy

NCLB: Left children behind

Mission accomplished

"I don’t recall, you know, sort of a general warning of concern until things started to turn — turn south on us."

Look! A tidal wave! Run away!

"But those of us who are of the other political faith..."

More facts. Less faith. Politics is not religion.
