Elephantman is right!

This report is so one-sided! That's why there was such a tornado of outrage from the republican members of that commitee, unaninmity be damned!

What we really need during every debate is to hear from all sides - especially since the lefties are now in charge. Those other voices cannot be moderate ones - Oh no! They must be from the most conservative elements of the right, the most pro-torture voices MUST be represented. I nominate the BTK guy. He could really represent the right. McCain certainly can't. He was busy doing that political thing, pandering to that narrow swath of candy-ass America that rejects torture.

Bebop-o

A scar, it sets on your skin, a mere echo reminder. Those tattoos, they fade to bruise, and make your bones ache. Your kids can feel them.

I'd sooner cut off my arm than my nose.

Never forget, indeed, in deed.

Two examples come to mind

Bob Dole was satirized for the disability to his hand, which happens to be a war wound - I seem to remember that being fair game.

Palin was satirized for intellectual incompetance. This may fall under the "Hire the handicapped - they're fun to watch" exception, though.

An oldie, but a goody

I . . . who took the money?

Who took the money away?

I . . . it’s always showtime

Here at the edge of the stage

I, i, i, wake up and wonder

What was the place, what was the name?

We wanna wait, but here we go again...

I . . . takes over slowly

But doesn’t last very long

I . . . no need to worry

Evr’ything’s under control

O - u - t but no hard feelings

What do you know? take you away

We’re being taken for a ride again

Fear itself.

Don't worry. We know you're afraid. Don't be afraid. We're not afraid. We could be attacked at any moment. We will protect you. We stride with purpose. We see everything. We hear everything. We strike with purpose. We know who wants to hurt you. We will tell you who wants to hurt you. Be alert. Monitor your area. This will keep you safe. Don't be afraid.

Chris Sinnard

We should be afraid. Our leaders assure us that they understand that fear. They feel our fear. They embrace fear. Fear is their middle name. They are not afraid of fear. They are not afraid of anything. Our enemies run before our leaders. Fear itself fears our leaders.

This short exchange...

HH: And does Israel have a right to exist unqualifiedly?

GG: Absolutely.

Was an interesting one. Without qualifications? Really? No limits at all? And what does "Right to exist" mean, anyway? Who bestows this right? On what merit is it based?

Dean should have a seat

I have watched, appointment by appointment, as they have been awarded, looking for even a hint that Dean was being considered for something. HHS would have been appropriate. Surgeon General is still possible.

Obama, as well as America, owes Dean a measure of gratitude that should be recognized. I have to woder what Dean himself wants. I felt he left the DNC in good standing, and resigned as a matter of tradition. But he must have his eye on something.

Yeah...I got yer education right here....

If it is out to educate Hamas, Israel may have achieved its aims

Them Palistine guys must all have ADD, 'cause we gotta keep shellin' 'em again and again, to put the learnin' right to 'em. And starvin' 'em don't teach them nothin' 'bout livin' in peace!

/snark

Really, isn't this a little like trying to teach someone karate by kicking the shit out of them?

Of course, America has nothing against bears, per se...

Bears were living their own, happy lives here for thousands of years, but unfortunately (for the bears) they could not really be considered a "race" of bears, so to speak (y'know, lacking souls, and all that). So when the europeans showed up with their divine mandate, It didn't look good for the bears.

Now, the europeans (now americans) don't have anything against bears. We like bears. But they are sort of dangerous, so we have hearded them up and got them somewhat contained in "wild" areas, surrounded by, well, us. There is not really enough food (or land) in these wild areas to support their once robust population, but their numbers keep adjusting to this (dwindling) to correspond with the carrying capacity of their habitat, as it gets more encroached on, and polluted. And, of course, they can not be allowed into our civilized society - Goodness knows what havoc they would wreak!

There are the occasional unfortunate events, attacks by the bears, which could be considered intolerable. But we are a benevolent people, and only if the bears really got uppity would we consider complete eradication all at once, rather than this more humane containment of the species.

Like other posters here,

I have trouble buying the data.

Slackie (And others), might find this article interesting - From a few years ago, but still probably relevant.

"The Bush Rendition Program"

It's about fairness. It's about equal opportunity. It's about extending the rights previously afforded only a small minority, to all citizens. Y'know, like the the Bush wiretapping program. Time was, under the original law, only certain people would be graced by application of the wiretapping law. But now, everybody gets to participate!

Remember that Seinfeld episode...

About doing the opposite.

If you go for years down a path, and it ain't working, take a hint. Do the opposite of whatever these idiots say.

Yeah, you left wing pansies...

I think I get it. This is left-rage. Way beyond any right-wing corollary we can think of. A kind of Nazi/terrorist/jihadist sentiment; "Death to my political enemy."

Scalia says you can only torture innocent people, not kill them.
