As long as we're all worked up about full disclosure...

Obama “ought to admit, ‘You know, I’ve got to be honest with you. I was a guy of the street. I was way to the left. I used cocaine. I voted liberally, but I’m back at the center…

When will McCain admit that although he was a war hero, he has squandered that goodwill, flip-flopped more than a $2 whore, slandered his opponent, and doesn't have a clue as to what his postion on any issue will actually mean for our country.

C'mon, John, come clean.

Somebody check John McCain's vital signs.

It looked like John McCain was forgetting his lines. Lucky for him, the Republican Party didn't say, "John McCain ? He's 120! He's too old!"

John McCain, since it now has been made politically correct to attack people based on diddly-squat, courtesy of the Republican Party, I just want to say, "You are one old, nasty asshole."

Fixed that for you, Elephantman.

"Run Away! Run Away!"

"if I were a Congressional Republican, I'd say, "Democrats, you've got it all. Now fix entitlement spending. And you'll have our votes. Whatever you want. You get control of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, however you want. We won't -- we can't -- oppose it. See you in 2012."

It's no surprise that this is the parting shot of the republicans, called back over their shoulders as they scurry away. They can't fix what they have broken, and they are too cowardly to admit what they have done. Bush will be saying in January that we're on the rebouund, as Rome burns.

So, Elephantman, You're only gonna give us until 2012? That is not nearly enough time to reverse the damage that has been wrought on our country by you people in the last eight years.

Don't go away mad. Just go away.

Take away his label, his connections, any illusions that he represents the left

"It might be gratifying in the short term to get him, but in the long run what does it really get you?"

Hung out on a clothesline with like colors to flap in the wind, it might get us a new Senator.

When they make the movie about the ascention of Obama

This will be like that scene from "Rocky" where Shire, laying in her hospital bed, tells Stallone to "Win".

What do you expect?

"If anything, one could have expected that equating Democrats with anti-American, vaguely foreign, radical subversion would have been more potent this year than any other -- given that the Democratic presidential nominee is a previously unknown, black politician from Chicago with a mixed African and Muslim name,"

The Kansas-born, single-mother, poor black, coming-in-from-left-field part of Obama's narrative may resonate more with people today. His story is at once wholly unique and quinticentially American, and when he says he's seeking parity for the working class, people identify with that in him, where 20 years ago (Or less) he might have been seen as "The black guy looking for payback". Maybe the white male brand has lost some of its luster, familiarity breeding contempt. Younger people are more progressive today, and the values you have at a young age tend to stick with you.

America isn't changing...Its waking up.

Blah blah blah

"But where I come from, you have to win the game before you start cutting down the nets."

McCain should have used this sanctamonious boilerplate for Commander pickle pants' swaggering theater in front of the "mission accompliched" banner.

My friend, you're not my friend.

Gov. Palin...

Do you believe that we in America should be dependant on Foreign Sources of olives? Because if you do, you are supporting the namby-pamby limp-wristed olive-growing French terrorists.

Original article: Various items

Not to nitpick...

"Rove singles out for derision a group of "academics gathered by the American Political Science Association at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington on Aug. 31, 2000 to make forecasts [and] declared that Al Gore would be the winner"

...But Gore did get the majority of votes, Florida not withstanding.

On Item 2, regarding Prop 8...I've been reading "The Nine" by Toobin, and recently got through the section on Lawrence vs. Texas, and how it overturned a 1986 case, the majority opinion of which was written by Scalia.

It's interesting how these "Originalists" cannot seem to find the equal protection and privacy rights that form the basis of Lawrence and Roe, respectively, and yet "protection" of heterosexual marriage is somehow an integral part of the constitution.

Tapping into the Constitution

What our terrorist-fearin' president needs to be doing is using some of them newfound wiretapping "rights" to listen into some of the communications between this would-be first reign-deer(and her buckin' hubby), and that there Alaska secessionist thing.

Pander-monium

Interesting that this lip-service to AIPAC is coming from Clinton, not Obama. Granted, he did fawn over them at their conference over the summer. But the fact that this has been underplayed by this campaign reflects the reality that most American Jews, as well as most Israeli Jews, favor a more balanced approach to the Palestinian/Isreali issue.

Is she really talking about Iran?

Because in defeating terror, Israel's cause is our cause. And because Israel's struggle is a struggle not just for the Jewish people, but for all people who want to live in peace and security.

One of these things, is not like the other.

Original article: In thanks to Hillary

Obama has become...

...a much better speaker because of CLinton. I mean, he was always a strong speaker, but being forced to respond to her has made him hone his language in a way that better presents his message, without diluting it, making him more clear. Unlike this run on sentence.

Meffert - I think Sec. of State would be more appropriate for her skills and temperment. SCOTUS, not so much.

Monday, November 3, 2008 08:27 AM

Yeah, Ransom...

It was immature and tasteless. But it was also a clear demostration of just how incompetant she is. I mean, caller ID would have told her (And her staff) that the call was coming from Canada, not France. She can't even cipher out a simple scam, and what is she doing taking calls from foreign leaders without some backup, anyway?

All she did was blow off a few talking points and giggle. Real leaders apply some critical analysis, and are a little more circumspect.
