The only thing that saved my sanity during the 2004 presidential election was the humor injected by Opus. Remember the exchanges between "Catsup Lady" and Shotgun Cheney?, The anxiety closets? Then, when airline prices were headed for the stratosphere, you came to our rescue with advice to foil the airlines' price increases. Now we are left with nothing to give us hope for the future. Imagine what this means...especially if McCain and that "lady" from Alaska end up in the white house! Oh, Opus! Please don't leave us alone on this dreadful planet...come back...we need your wisdom and guidance more than ever!
I thought the discussion about Jeremiah Wright was put to rest months ago. To bring this issue back from the dead at this late hour shows how desperate my party has become. Those who are desperate are dangerous to themselves and to others. I was unable to vote early due to work and family but I'm now glad I didn't. Thanks to those bigots in Pennsylvania, and the republicans in general, I will be at the polls early tomorrow and I will be voting the Democratic Ticket!
This absolutely should be done. Bush, et. al., has been secretive on all fronts that matter to the populace and no doubt have committed many and various crimes. They must be held accountable no matter the cost and time required. That was the case in "Whitewater" and the only person convicted in that fiasco spent a few weeks in jail for refusing to testify.
To paraphrase George Bush, "Kenny, you did a heck of a job"!
As dis-tasteful as it may be for some, I sorta regret that Mr. Stevens lost his seat in the Senate. I was so looking foward to witnessing the republicans refusal to seat one of their own. Had Senator Byrd been convicted of the same crimes, the republicans would be calling for a lynching with Fox News providing live coverage of the event! I guess it really is true: "Time wounds all Heels"!
Something very strange happened in the US Senate run-off election in Georgia. Early voting was announced/allowed and polling places were made public. Bear with me, now: the number of early voting places, by county: Clayton = 6; Henry = 5; Cobb = 4; Fulton = 3; Fayette = 3; Muscogee = 2; Richmond = 2; DEKALB = 1! Dekalb county has a population of ONE MILLION, plus or minus, and only ONE early voting place was allowed! And to get to that polling station one had to spend much too much time in traffic. 4300 Memorial Dr,Decatur is a bitch to find even on good days. So what gives here? Something is WRONG when counties with less than 20 percent of Dekalb's population have double or triple the choices where they can vote early!! Is this another case where minority voters were discouraged to vote early, or maybe not at all because of the time required to do so?
When will these paranoid republicans/evangelicals face the music and stop their insane diatribe? Your candidate lost...live with it! In four years, all of you (except Big Mouth Rush Blowbag) will be thanking your stars that Mr. Obama won, and by a very wide electorial vote! Even His Holiness James Dobson, with his "Letter from 2012", could not prevent the thrashing at the polls that Mr. Obama handed to the "faithful". Wake-up!, Dr. D and the rest of you. Reality approaches and that reality is PRESIDENT OBAMA!! Suck-it-up and enjoy it!!
I am a liberal and I am not upset...at least not nearly as I would be had he chosen (gasp) His Holiness Doc Dobson! Now that would have been a kick in the rubber parts! I have no love for Warren, but opinions are like assholes - everybody has one, and most of the STINK!
Why are you giving this asshole the time of day much less space that could otherwise be used to inform us of world happenings? And Hot Air Limbaugh, even a bigger asshole...do you think that Salon readers are interested in anything this turd has to say? What next?...Bill O'Reily and "Andy" Coulter on Dancing with the Stars? Puke!
Is this a surprise to anyone? Lil' George probably does not believe it (he's still delusional) and Shotgun Cheney doesn't give a damn! Some say that their marks will improve with time: maybe, but anyone alive today over the age of six will have to pass-on before that happens. (Looking foward to GW's new book...I understand it will be pure fiction!)
