[Read the article: Hillary's race against time]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Camille,

For the first time I actually read through your entire article. As a feminist, I agree Hillary is no feminist. Obama and his wife Michelle are the feminists in this presidential race.

I have supported Obama from the beginning, but in the beginning I still has a lot of respect for Hillary. As this campaign has proceeded, my respect for Hillary has diminished. Hillary's campaign has continued to insert the gender issue into this campaign and at the same time baits Obama's campaign on race issues. Frankly I think she makes all women look bad.

Women if you want to have power, or be treated as equals, you have to know how to play with the boys, but no whining or being bullies like them.

I find that in most movies from the 30s and 40s women were portrayed an much stronger, independent individuals. NO females playing victims in those movies. Some how the 50s killed that off. Then early 60s turned females into vulnerable sex pots. We had a reprieve for a while, but its seems to all be coming back.

  • Anti abortion terrorist

[Read the article: More "common ground" on abortion? ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Not sure it's a good idea to open up the adoption to those anti abortion protesters,(terrorists) as they appear to be a pretty unbalanced bunch.

There is nothing surprising about NARAL not protesting this legislation. It does not violate the right to reproductive choice, and most adoption referrals come from Planned Parenthood.

  • Wrong about Sanger

[Read the article: More "common ground" on abortion? ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Margaret Sanger did not advocate abortions. Sanger advocated women have have access to contraception and the right to use it as a means to not only plan a family, but to prevent women from using abortion as a method of birth control.

Many claim she was a racist, but when she speaks of race it has nothing to do with the color of your skin, but the country you live in.

  • As Former Miliatry Supports Obama

[Read the article: The Politico claims the Iraq war will help McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yes, I read the article, much shorter nd easier to read than your commentary.

Having said that I am wondering why both Politico and Salon are not covering the Press conference held by Obam yesterday, where a line up 10 impressive military scholars, former generals, admirals, from all branches of the services endorsed Obama.

Since it is not being covered here or on politico I suggest you go to Obama's site and read the entire endorsement and the resumes of thses supporers.

  • Iraq success & Obama

[Read the article: The Politico claims the Iraq war will help McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Note: many fomrer generals who oppoed this move in Iraq ahve endorsed Obaam! Where is the NEWS about this!

What questions did Pew ask, How did they asked ? How question are presented in polls is pretty telling in any poll. You can get the results you want by how the questons are phrased.

    What is success?

    • Is success over 2 million educated middle class and wealthy Iraqis leaving Iraq success?

    • Is disposing a secular government and replacing it with a religious leaders friendly to Iran success?

    • Under Sadamn women were not required to wear veils, now they are. Is this success?

    • Is getting Sunni insurgents, former Sunni military, to help quell violence success?

    • I bringing the violence to 2004 levels success?

    • Is spending trillions that could have been spent at home success?

Bush keeps moving the bar on success.

  • part of clinton strategy

[Read the article: Reexamining the Ferraro fracas]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Frankly I think Ferraro's remarks were very bad. Even worse were her denials. The Hillary campaign and is just furious that someone took the steam out of her run for president. Obama is doing well because he is the best candidate.

It's really absurd that the Clinotn campaign is making such a Big deal of TX and Oh especially since Obama won more delegates in TX and her OH win is now down to 10pt lead. Face it HRC supporters Obama is the LEADER. He has won more states by bigger % pts than Hillary. Obama is ahead in pledged delegates. Obama has gotten 7 new Super delegates since OH contest. He is gaining Super delegates she has lost them. In all the state she has gotten just as many white votes. Even is she wins PA she still can't catch him. But she'll keep stomping ans screaming until she gets her way.

  • Oh Please NO!

[Read the article: MoveOn launches celeb-studded competition for Obama ad]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Frankly I think Move ON will hurt Obama. Stay out of the Ad business, and leave it the Obama campaing.

Frankly I think the "Yes We Can" video is dippy.

  • A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum

[Read the article: Obama can't win general election, Clinton advisor says]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Mark Penn is living is the 90s and I tink he has been a disaster fot the Clinton cmpaing. Are they delusional?

Obama is the LEADER in this race. Hillary's big state wins were NOT BY BIG MARGINS.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum. At the beginning of the campaign my book reading group (all women) had a discussion about Hillary and her run; who we liked and who we would support. I was the only woman in the group who was in the Obama camp, and they were all surprised because I am the older feminist. Some undecided between Obama and Edwards, Some split between Obama and Hillary, and some Hillary supporters. The week before the CA vote most had fallen into the Obama side, but those who voted for Hillary early by mail regretted it. We had not discussed it since.

Last night we discussed the campaign briefly, and even those who had voted for Hillary agreed they would love to see Hillary get out of the race as they feel the divisions are hurting the party. As one women said, I'm not sure which face she will put on today. Most have quit watching as they cannot stand it any more. All agreed that if Hillary is the candidate we can count on McCain to be our next president.
