"Call me naive

but I personally would be deeply uncomfortable confronting an elected official about an issue that I had absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE about" ... bookwence

The MOB people are too ignorant to understand that they are uninformed.

squaresville.. The new Christian values are NOT american values

Our Democracy is based on the Constitution, not the Christian bible. Religion has no place in the health care debate. Teh new Christian right appear to be very hateful bunch, not very Christ like.

Proud to be a mob member?

Did you notice the guy' T-shirt "proud to be part of the mob'.

Wow they like being lead like sheep. Not one of these people interviewed knew what they were talking about. I noticed they are the same kinds of people who protest outside abortion clinics and/or kill doctors.

Mental health coverage

I sure hope the health care reform has some mental health coverage included. Rush, Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly, the birthers and town hall THUGS could sure benefit from some mental health consultation. Maybe even some psychotropic meds.

2010 terrietime

2010 is right around the corner.-- terrietime

Yes and with THUGS at town hall meetings representing republicans the Democrats should win BIG again in 2010.

These people shouting down representatives are not regular citizens protesting. They represent a minority and are just THUGS disrupting town hall meetings in an uncivilized manner. They are ignorant people riled up by online lies and have nothing positive to contribute to a debate.

Right wing vocabulary

Right winger like to twist vocabulary to instill fear in the public.

They called estate taxes, the death tax'. Now they call end of life consultation 'death panels'. There is a clause in the health care reform to pay for consultation for life ending decisions and preparing a living wills. Anyone who does not have a living will will be subject to interference in life ending decisions by people like these THUGS who show up at these town hall meetings, and the likes of those who interfered in the Shivo case.

Do you want to be hooked up forever to a machine as a vegetable? If not get a living which specifies who makes your decisions if you are not able, and how much care you want when you are dying. That way it is your decisions. That is what the end of life consultation is about.

Ipanema

Why is the Press so obessed with polls? Wasn't Adolf Hitler at one time extremely popular in Nazi Germany or Moussolini the one who made the trains run on time?

-- Ipanema

Yes and the same kinds of people who liked Hitler are showing up at town hall meetings acting like Thugs.

waht a bunch of bull

Ironically, if Hillary had been president, she most likely would still be riding high. She had enough time in politics to know what she was doing.

Good greif

Lets see Obama has only been in office 7 months and we expect miracles. Considering the gigantic mess he inherited, he has done more in his first hundreds days than many did in 6 months.

Polls are manipulated by the way the questions are asked, for political purposes.

Why are theyhaving town halls

The majority of voters voted for Obama because they wanted change including universal health care. The election is over and the Democrats won a majority. Why do they need these town hall meetings, just pass the healthcare legislation.

Ttoally disagree

"Except for that wily fox, David Axelrod, who could charm gold threads out of moonbeams, Obama seems to be surrounded by juvenile tinhorns, bumbling mediocrities and crass bully boys."

We needed new fresh youthful leadership. Obama has surrounded himself with the brightest and the best. He has an excellent team.

The Nuremberg trials..

started at the top with the judges who changed laws to allow the persecution of the Jews. Those at the bottom just follow orders.

By following what deemed enhanced interrogations in the memos torture occurred.

We may have to wait until Obama's second term, when he has nothing to lose.

What I worry about

I worry that they are trying to many reform sand we will end up with a complicated health bill. Two things need to be accomplished.

1. Every citizen should be covered, under a single payer universal health plan.

2. Costs and unnecessary procedures need to be reduced...

By taking Medicare and gradually over a 4 year period letting all citizens buy into Medicare based on income we could solve both problems. Non citizens can buy in at a higher price. This way we would not be creating a new government programs to add to the costs. In fact we could get rid of the administrating Medicaid and Veterans care roll it into to Medicare too. Private insurers could act just like they do with Medicare..provide supplemental coverage.

Other costs reforms would follow out of necessity.

The incredible stupidity

I love the stupidity of those on Medicare who say they don't want a government health plan!.

They ar ther to disrupt

These hooligans who have been rounded up to go to the town hall meetings have no intention of being polite. Their sole purpose os to be there to disrupt the town hall meetings so no civilized discussion can happen. Many are the same angry people who showed up at Plain rallies. They are incapable of asking their own questions. Instead they come with the same 5 question given to them by the online shit disturbers.

I made calls into PA for the Obama campaign. I could not believe how angry and belligerent the people in PA were. Many other volunteers had the same experience.
