  • Obama on gay rights

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's Texas-size moment ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama is the only candidate I have heard spake out against the scapegoating of gays. You can ignore the Gavin Newsom story. Why would Obama have his photo taken with Gavin. After all Newsom has has his tails tied to the old Democratic machinery in San Francisco (Feinstein, Willie Brown, etc) . Gavin endorsed Hillary early on.

  • Research already done

[Read the article: Yes, we can]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm sure Obama knows that research has already proven that Abstinence ONLY sex education Does NOT work. School vouchers just takes away funds from public schools. Obama is a strong advocate of the separation of church and state. His background and understanding of Constitutional law is a great asset.

Obama is wiling to respect the views and positions of others, even when he disagree or does not support them. Frankly this is a great strategic move on his part.

I support Obama because I do believe he can bring about change.

I saw it in the 60s. Just every once in a while this country needs a fresh, new, inspirational agent of change...that is Obama. Besides so refreshing to see the level of conversation brought to a higher level by Obama.

    Yes we can!

  • A few more debates thougths

[Read the article: A few debate thoughts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama looked very presidential, he out smarted Hillary on almost every point. She was good on the border issues. I loved the boo fest against Hillary's stupid plagiarism statement. I guess Hillary advisers had not yet figure out it was a non issue.

The end was so orchestrated. When she started into her tear dripping closure all I coTld say was... "get out the violins.

How pathetic, it was obvious to me this was an orchestrated moment to illicit sympathy. A New Hampshire moment, but I don't think it's going to work this time. then the condescending hand shake with Obama. He looked at here in disbelief. You could tell by the look on his face, Obama knew the moment was not genuine.

I think any more debates are pointless.

I see victory in the air for Obama Mar 4.

  • Next Debate

[Read the article: A few debate thoughts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The next debate needs a new direction. Some new questions, on new issues. How about no questions on health care. A topic Hillary keeps wanting to talk about and there is nothing more to say. We already know their diffences on heath care. We already know their positions on immigration. We already know their positions on Iraq. We already know Hillary's 35 years of experience.

Maybe MSMBC should have Salon bloogers come up with the next debate questions. What questions would you ask that have not been addressed? How about more discusson on these issues the republican have always brought up? Let them practice debating republicans by discussing some long term issues. Or what about looking at the candidates position papers and ask some specific questons about their positions.

    - Reproductive choice and Roe v. Wade

    - Gay rights an civil unions

    - Gun Control vs Violence

    - civil liberties vs security

    - separation of church and state issues.

    - info structure investment in regard to to public transportation.

  • Patrotism or nationalism

[Read the article: Obama shows that dismissing slimy right-wing attacks is not difficult]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obamawas right to stop wearing the flag pin. I can't even begin to tell you how disgusted i was when every memberof Congress starting wearing those pins after 9/11. It was just another component of fear mongering...you wiht us or agnist us. It reminded me of Nazi Gemrany.

The biggest flag wavers in the world have always been nationinalist governments who use fear and patriotism to deny their citizens the freedom and Democracy.

  • Smells

[Read the article: The Obama photo flap]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think some of Hillary's campaign operatives are very capable of this...Trying to show how the GOP will attack Obama.

The photo is rather funny, and pretty typical American politician visiting another coutry. Somehow the polo shirt and kakai pants underneth, just don't cut it as a village elder.

The Obama campaign should gather all the photos of all the photos of U.S. presidents visiting foreign countries dressing up in native costumes and send them to Drudge.

  • Obama's positon very clear

[Read the article: Clinton and Obama's NAFTA showdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama has not changed his position, but Hillary has. Obaba was the first to mention fixing NAFTA. He want sot renogiate for environmental and labor laws.He opposed the Peru agreement for the same reason.

Obama is right, Hillary cannot claim experience in the white house without taking responsibility for NAFTA. After all she went around the country speaking on behalf of the NAFTA agreement the 90s.

Similar to Iraq she has rolled around to Obama's position.

  • forgot this

[Read the article: Clinton and Obama's NAFTA showdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obmaa has said NAFTA needs to be fixed. He has been very clear in his "Keeping America's Promise" speeches that not all jobs have disappeared because of free trade agreements. Listen carefully to the of his speeches and his plan, not what Hillary claims.

  • Why products made oversees.

[Read the article: Clinton and Obama's NAFTA showdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In the 50s and 60s people waited until they could afford furniture, houses and other products. Our economy has become more and more dependent on consumptions. Now consumers buy junk made oversees because they are either unwilling or unable to pay for quality products. Thus Americans buy more junk than they need from Walmart and other discount stores. These Big stores get their products manufactured in China and elsewhere, driving small American manufacturers and retailers out of business; and job for people without college educations over sees.

A Democracy cannot suvive with out a middle class.
