  • Vote for Obama

[Read the article: Undecided '08: Should I vote for Clinton or Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This long time Democrat, former pro-choice activist is voting for Obama. Both candidates are close the issues and support values and issues of the Democratic party. Obama however has the grassroots energy and support to carry us through to the November elections for a win. He has inspired a new generation to get involved and has fired up the progressive wing of the Democratic party dormant since the mid 90s. He provides inspirational leadership needed at this time in our history.

He is qualified to lead and will provide the leadership to move us forward. His foreign policy is much more progressive than Hillary's. Hillary's foreign policy advisers are the same advisers who lobbied members of Congress to voe YES to go to Iraq. Obama's foreing policy advisory team spoke out against this war and our diplomacy from the beginning.

Obama has been pro-active on issues of reproductive choice. Hillary has given lip service to it. Obama's health plan has a better chance of getting approved. His long term economics package is clearly thought out not just BIG promises.

We can go back to the 90s and listen to the Clinton hate machine, or we can move forward. Voting for Hillary becasue she is woman,is stupid and not very supportive of feminist ideals. Voting for Hillary because we will get Bill is REALLY stupid, becasue yes, we will get Bill and that will defeat us.

WE must look forward not back...We must be united not divided. .. Democrats must win not lose. Thus I am voting for Obama.

  • What???

[Read the article: The qualms before the storm]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So Obama stays away from answering questions of the press?? How come Obama has the endoremsnts of almost every major newpaper in the country if he avoids the press? After all most newspapers require an interview before they endorse.

He has been more specific when speaking on issues than any candidate.

When it comes to health care Obama knows not everyone wants a universal system. His plan has a better chance of getting anywhere than Hillay's. If you believe Hillary is going to bive us universal health care, go to theHill.com.

See what lobbyist from K street are endorsing Hillary.

  • CA Delegate selection process head spinner

[Read the article: The race for California]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even if Obama wins the popular vote in Ca. Hillary has more congress people endorsing her and they make up the super delegates here.

    This is how it works.

    441 delegates (221 females, 220 males)

    62 Alternatives (31 females, 31 males)

    503 Total (252 females, 2511 males)

Any registered Democrat can apply to be delegate in their district. Dealine is April 2, 2008.

    2008 affirmative action goals.

    Hispaic /Latinoes 26%

    African America 16%

    Asian/Pacific Islander 9%

    Native American 1%

    YOuth (under 30) 10%

Blank- I guess that is white 12% ?

born after 829.78 or later 10%

66-SUPER DELEGATES: Automatic delegates to the convention. 33 Democratic National Committee (DNC)members; 32 Congressional members; I former DNC chair; 36 Democrats in congress plus (Boxer and Feinstein) but four of our congressional members are on the DNC and are counted as DNC members.

241 DISTRICT LEVEL DELEGATES: Each of CA 53 congressional Districts (CDs) are allocated from 3-6 "district Level delegates" based upon population and presidential voting from 2000-2004 elections. Using the same criteria 40 of the 53 CDs allocate 1 alternative each. To become a districts level delegate you must be a registered Democrat, commit to a candidate and then be elected at your CD caucus held on April 13, 2008

81 AT LARGE(state wide) DELEGATES: Any registered Democrat who is committed to a candidate can apply to be an at-large delegate. At large delegates are confirmed May 18, 2008 at a statewide delegation meeting.

48 PLEDGED PARTY LEADERS AND ELECTED OFFICIAL (PLEO): A PLEO is a registered Democrat. No elected official or party leader is automatically a PLEO delegate. Individuals must file a form C and pledge to support a presidential candidate who received at least 15% or more of the vote statewide. PLEO delegates are confirmed by a vote of the 241 district-level delegates at the May 18, 2008 statewide meeting. PLEO Catagories (in order) big city mayors (population 250,00 or more) and stateside legislative leaders and state legislators; other state, county, and local elected offcial; Clifornia Democratic party leaders.

So you see even if OBAMA wins in CA, Hillary's entrenched DNC friends who owe the Clintons for their office can swing the delegate outcome.

  • Clinton did not Win BIG

[Read the article: Clinton gets her party started]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Clinton may have won big states but not by big percentage points. Obama won by a bigger percentage in hi shomne state of IL than did Hilary in NY, thus evening out delgates. HIllary on by 10-11 % in CA. Much f her vote came fomr "vote by mail" ballots cast earlier. Obam did jsut as well among whites as Hillary.

In all states Obam gets more votes from edcuated, white weklathy voters. Hillary is doing better among working class. Which proves people voting for Hllary are voting against their own best interests.

Obama will do better going forward. The delegates are almost even now. Even in CA where she won by 10%, yo have to look at what CD districts she won and how many delelgates are awarded in those districts.

  • Big win in MN

[Read the article: Goodbye, Super Tuesday]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama won BIG in both MN & IA. You can't get much whiter than that.Give up the race card. In most states the educated have voted for Obama. They are probably more "educated" on the issues too. The middle and working class are voting againist their own best interests by voting for Hillary.

I would say CA made a difference also because of the Asian voters which has not been discussed. The Asian population in CA is big. Asians tend to be more conservative, thus Hillary got their votes.

  • HIllary Still playing Dirty

[Read the article: "Present" tension ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I know several people in different states who got direct mail piece from he Clinton campaign just before Super Tuesday. These direct mail pieces used the same'"present" LIES as she did earlier in the camapaign.

Actually Obam has been more po-active on issues of reproductive choice than Hillary. She pays "lip service" to teh issue.
