Uncle Fester

"It's amazing how much crap that is either not supported by the facts, or directly contradicted by the facts is allowed to go uncontested by the mainstream media."

I agree much of what is presented on main steam cable media is not supported by facts. In fact the lack of historical knowledge by most of the TV pundits is astounding, and it's' not just FOX but CNN. Kieth on MSNBC has a better grasp of history and facts.

I think most of the print journalist do a much better job of reporting.

However much of the blog sphere is as bad, as cable TV, and sometimes worse.

My advice to Glenn is: every dog has their day, and if you shit on their yard, you won't get to have your day, and will continue to speak to a very small audience.

Right I watched that town hall meeting on CSPAN. Howard Dean did a great job not only throwing out the idiots, but covering all the issues. He also did not let the idots throw him into a panic.

I loved it when he asked the question. "How many of your are willing to give up your Medicare.", only a few hands popped up from people who were obviously not over 65 went up.

If you go to this site right at the is House bill H3200.

click on it it will take you to the explanation bill. You can read a summary or look at the text. The public option is explained in the Text.

The House bill has gone through committee mark ups and was sent to the House budget committee just before the summer recess.

The Senate bills have not yet come out of committee.

Frankly all this town hall meeting publicity is ridiculous. Teh right wing idiots taking videos of themselves them getting them posted on blogs, so the main stream media will pick it up. There has been no real debate on this reform. The majority of town halls meeting lately have been filled with supporters of the health care reform and a public option, but reasonalbe discussion is not sensational enough for the blogs or TV media to cover.

oops

In my previous comment said "Glenn Beck is undereducated fool who attacks the under educated." I meant to say Glenn Beck is undereducated fool who ATTRACKS the undereducated

public should get educated

Anyone can go to Thomas government site and read the health care proposals. Problem is is too many people are lazy and depend on the media for their answers.

Glenn Beck is undereducated fool who attacks the under educated. It makes me lose total confidence in the future of this country to know so many people watch him and worse believe what he has to say.

The House bill proposes a public option be formed and funded with start-up money. However they have not defined the public option, and I think this is causing some confusion.

"Glenn's strength lies in the opposite of your claim: exactly because he is able to separate the personal and emotional from the rational facts." lol

Glenn's blog today was a total emotional rant.

afgree adn disagree with Klien

"he knows little about politics, less about journalism"

I agree with this part of Klien's comments bout Glenn. However I disagree that Glenn does not care about national security. I just think Glenn and his followers are extremely inexperienced in life and have unrealistic understanding of how the world works. You do not get your ideas reported or excepted immediately. Instead you develop relationships of trust, and convince others to support your ideas based on this trust.

Today blogs allow citizen journalists to put their ideas out there to a loyal, but limited audience, which further polarizes each side.

Its called earning through trust.

"Last year, after I wrote critically about a well-known journalist who frequently appears on the TV and is considered "liberal," he emailed me (after first asking me to agree that our conversation would be private) to warn that I should be more "careful" about attacking "allies" if I wanted to expand my platforms and get on television. That's how the culture works."

If you don't get this you will never make it in journalism or get your ideas excepted. Confidentiality, which you call secrecy' has always been an ethical component journalism, and it is how you get the Bigger story in the end and earn resepct. The problem with many blogs and TV media it's all a 'tell all' reality show.

Although I agree with some of your ideas, your constant negative attitude hurts you. Your too quick to lash to when someone disagrees with you and lack a sense of humor, and the ability to laugh at yourself. I thought Klein's remarks about the Rush Limbaugh of the far left was quite accurate, except that Rush has a pea-sized brain and you do not, but the presentation of 'extreme' ideas is often similar.
