Most Extreme of the relgious rigth
[Read the article: Huckabee's radical religious friends]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks for this article. I had no idea Huckabee was connected to these groups. Not that I would ever vote for him anyway, but I now know he is not the "nice guy" of the Christian right.
Between 1990 and 1994 did research on the religious right. The groups listed in this article are under the radar of most news media but are the most radical of all the religious right organizations. All these people and organizations are connected in some way with the most notable organizations: Focus on the Family, Christian Colalition, Concerned Women of America, but have an even more theocratic approach.
The Christian Coalition, FOF's Family Research Council who now have regular seats at the table on main stream media political programs once lurked in the shadows of politics too.
You can see how close we really are to theocracy when you see the votes this man is getting. What is really interesting is some of the major players of the Christian Right did not endorse Huckabee.

Republicans Pander to the Christain Right
[Read the article: Huckabee's radical religious friends]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What is really bothers some is that the both the republicans adn teh news media keep pandering to the Chrsitian Right. I was furious after I heard CNN reporters talking to representative of the Family Research Council in SC talking about "Values Voters" vs the "other" voters. Huh I have values too, no just the nasty values of the Chrsiitan right.
When is the media going to take on these radical ideas and groups on instead of pandering to them. There image have gone from Radical Religious Right which they are, to Social Conservatives, now Values Voters.
Where is Edward R. Mural when you need him?

Pro reproducitive rights
[Read the article: Abortion rates in the U.S. are falling]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]by pro-abortion-rights..Wrong term Tracy. Those who fight for abortion rights are 'Reproductive right organizaitns. Why because these organizations fight not only for the right to safe, legal abortion but for the right and access to all other reproductive services. It is the efforts of these groups that has helped reduce the need for abortion.
On the other hand it would be good for the environment if we also decreased births. Both abortions and births can be prevented by more education on family planning. Most reproductive rights groups however won't touch population control issue with a ten foot pole.
Let's make every child wanted and save the earth at the same time.

Democrtas will not win
[Read the article: Paris goes big for Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Its not over. Hillary only won by 600 votes.
It was not a big % win 51 % Obmam-45%.
Edwards should drop out and give Obama a chance.
IF Hillary get the nomination I fear the Democrats will loose in Nov. I know many Democrats that dislike the 'centrist' politics of the Clintons. Many long time Democrats, I know will either hold thier noses and vote, or sit it out.
Very sad. We finally have a new progressive leader who could lead us forward, but and we may be stuck with another Clinton t lead us back.
Remember you not just electing Hillay.
the Bill & Hillary show may be back!!!
Divisions in DC will continue.

It not over
[Read the article: The battle for Nevada]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Clinton's antics have fired up voters in Ca to lean towards Obama. There are a lot of "undecided" voters here. Every long-time Democrats I talk to don't like Hillary's tactics and think Bill is acting in a very undignified manner. The thing that will help the Obama camapaingn the most is for Hillary to keep Bill's face out there.

Big Difference
[Read the article: Barack Obama: "Committed Christian -- Called to Bring Change"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama's faith is personal as it should be, and he respects all other faiths. Obama has made it clear he respect the Separation of Church and State. I doubt his pamples are in respnse to the Muslim rumors. Ever here of "targeting" voters. Exactly what he is doing applealing to people of religious faith.
I think Obama could however give a better answer to the Musilum charges. He could say something like this :"I am a Christian and have never been a member of the Muslim faith. These rumors circulating about me are not only attacks on me but on many good citizens of the Muslim faith in this country. We should respect the the rights of people of all religious faiths as protected under our great constitution" Of course I'm sure Obama could say this much better than I have.
On the other hand Huckabee's goal is Theocracy. He has said it indirectly many times duirng his campaingn. Beware of the term "world view" as this comes directly from the goals of the Colalition on Revival (COR). Huckabee is clssely aligned with followers of this group. COR's goal is to dispense with the U.S. Constitution and create a Christian theocracy.
