I'm an "early adopter" for Obama. As a poltical junkie, I first started watching the candidate last summer. I was never keen on Hillary running which amazed most of my friends and family. I checked all thew Democrat's sites and looked at their positions on the various issues. They were pretty close. I liked Crhis Dodd a lot, but but Obmam sopke to me. I went to his web site signed and within 24 hrs i was getting e-mails. I was impressed. I first saw him last summer at 'Women For Obama" event in SF. What a charged room!!!! The man can move a crowd. I was convinced after listeing to him he was my candidate, as I have not been this fired up since the 60s.
I have continued to watch him very closely and believe he not only a very good politician, with a well organized strategic camapaign. I think he will be be an excellent leader. I love his intelligent, dry sense of humor, which reminds me of Robert Kennedy.
I was very pleased to see him do well IA. I have no doubt that Obama will old up very well in debates with Republicans He was very in charge at the NH debates. He is a good at debate... first He knows his issues well, second he does not allow his opponents to draw him into negativity, he responds with respect , then points out his strengths and his opponents weakness.
I just hope he takes my state, CA big time. My "Obama" yard sign goes up this week.
I'm pretty amused by the make over of pundits. Until the IA caucus all we ever heard about Obama from the pundits. All we heard from both the pundits and republicans was Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Obama was ignored. Now that he has proven he has real support, the pundits are finally talking about Obama, the republicans have shifted their defenses from Hillary to Obama, and the HRC fans are complaining because they think the pundits are now picking on her. It's time for a reality check folks. Obama has been drawing huge crowds across the country since last August. He has his office set up already around the nation, He has a well oiled, grassroots machine, has been out fund raising Hillary. I have never seen so many people who have been politically disengaged for the past 20 years, engaged now,and it is because of Obama not Hillary.
Her'es what Hillary needs to do for a Make Over.
(1)Quit running on Bill's experience. Run on your 7 years of elected experience vs. Obama's 11 years of elected experience.
(2) quit co-oping Obama's "change" mantle". Get creative.
(3) stop crying in pulbic. Makes women look bad and enforces stereotypes.
(4) Quit getting riled up in debates, keep your cool like Obama.
(5) Quit talking about (I & ME). Talk about 'We" like Obama.
(6) Quit saying Obama is vague, when you also provide no specifics.
(7) Send Bill back to NYC,or at least keep in in the back ground , if possible. He's hurting your campaign.
(8) Get left of center.
Medical experts agree there is no such thing as "post-abortion trauma". This is just one of many terms made up by the anti abortion forces. They have been focusing on vulnerable women with emotional problems with these "guilt" programs for the past few years now it appears they are focusing on 'pocessive" males who have similar emotional & addictive problems. The example the males you gave sound more like males with addictive problems and other issues. It would be more benefical if these people got "real" help instead of being victimized by non-medical professionals with pro-life LIES.
My position: When men are capable of getting pregnant then and only then can they decide. Besides, most women who have good relationships with reasonable males do include them in their choices.
How can vwomen be so stupid as to feel sorry for Hillary and vote for her just becasue the pundits ponced on her. I AM a feminist and I am disgusted wiht Hillary's behavior and I am also disgusted that women will vote for her just because she is a woman. Yes, Ive put up with the "old boys" for years in my career, but I am not going to vote for Hillary in the primaries. Yes, I would love to see a woman leading this nation, but why has Hillary been appointed? There are plenty of women who have held elected office longer than her.
Her conduct just reinforces all the stereotypes about women. If you think the pundits are picking on her, wait until the republicans get going. There will be lots of tears to be shed if she is the Dem's nominee.
All this complaining in about the pundits. All the press has talked bout for months is Hillary, Hillary Hillary, now that she is vulnerable, some cry foul. Vote on substance!!!
After the NH vote, this feminist is trucking to my nearby Obama office in Silicon valley to sign up to volunteer. I have this terrible gut feeling the Democrats will loose if Hillary is the nominee. I fro one will hold my nose and vote for her if she gets the nomination as will many other progressives. All those new voters in the primaries are being drawn in by Obama, so those votes may be lost in the general if Hillary wins. Hillary is got the most of her votes in conservative areas in both IA and NH.
She won by 3%. This is No stunning victory. Some pundits are saying maybe voters lied and voted their prejudices. Has anyone ever considered the possibility Hillary supportrs lied to make this look like a stunning victory for her?
You can blame the press all you want, but Hillary's own campaign predicted an 11 pt defeat in NH. Could this have been a ploy on teh part of HRC Clinton's. Let's not forget ti was NOT a big victory, she ONLY won by barely 3%.
