  • Obama

[Read the article: Barack delivers, Hillary disappoints]

    --my prediction right on.

I was very amused by the surprise of the pudits last night. David Brooks on PBS was almost speechless.

I have supported Obama form the get-go and many of my friends were amazed as I am a pro-choice feminist and have worked as a political activist on women's issue for many years.. Yes I would love to see a woman be president. However, I want a women who wins on her own merits, not Bill's administration. I will not vote for a woman just because she is a woman. And I really do not want four more years of Clinton hating. Hillary made a big mistake using Bill in the last part of this race. Bringing in the big guns does not impress people in IA.

I knew Obama would win, but was glad to see how well he did. People In IA got a lot of exposure to him, and It was only last night that the general public got to see Obmam speek. Hillary and Edwards have co-opted Obmaa's "change theme." However Obama has substance behind his message. He is not just about shallow change and hope messages. His platform has substance. His message of change transcends to real issues. While others would like to make his campaign about black and white. It is not.

Obama also is not light weight and no one to fear. He has what it takes to be a leader. He will do much better in a General election. Edwards is negative. Hillary, well Hillary, is Hillary, is Bill. We could use some fresh blood in the Democraatic party. Obama will bring in new voters, and us "old" progressives love him.

Obama has a very strategic, well organized grass roots machine. A good team of advisers for each issue. When Kerry ran I could not find a Democrat headquarters ready to go until very close the General election, and they were very disorganized. Obama on the other hand already has several offices set up here in Silicon valley and across CA...fired up!! Ready to Go!!!

  • No breakthrough-pundit miscalulation

[Read the article: Barack Obama's breakthrough victory]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

These state comprise a miniscule portion of the electorate, but the media conventional wisdom says otherwise.... this is statement absolutely wrong. The combination of IA and NH is very representative of the nation as a whole. This will flush out in the Republican race more than the Democrats. Besides in IA and NH the voters are more educuated on the candidates. On Super Tuesday many voters in others states many go blindly to the polls with out any knowledge of candidates positions on the issues..In CA less than 33 % have vote in the last 2 elections.

    A disgrace.

I was more than amused at the shock of the pundits. Where have they been for the last 2 months.

When Obmam spoke to people about getting out to caucus. He first said it was important to get out whether they voted for him or not, then he asked voters to consider voting for him. He is not ego driven, He is a grassroots person and will revive the Democratic party, and help bring in "fresh" bodies not just as voters, but as leaders for the future.

On the other the republicans party may implode. The Rs need some good new 'leaders who are not' just neo-cons, and theo-cons.

  • Politiness okay with me.

[Read the article: What now, Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Truth is the publicis sick of the pundits and politicians divise messages. Obama is not just peddling hope. He is getting people involved. He is not just running for president. Obama is helping to rebuild the Democratic party.

There is nothing wrong with being polite. He can stand up on the republicans on the issues. He is very stratgic thinker.

Both the Democrats and Republicans have been divisive. Obama has a better chance than either Hillary or Edwards of bringing both sides together to solve legislative issues. As far as being able to stand up to the challenges of the republicans. He can do it. Depends on his challenger in the general election. His campaign is smart enough not to get stuck too early on messages. His message of Hope and Change have evolved and he stategicaly connects them to issues. If the pundits would just listen, give up their 20 sec sound bites and follow more closely. They would see this.

  • Softer side?

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's softer side]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You ca this her softer side? She is practically crying. Problem is she is taking this much too personal. She looses it and starts ranting in a defensive mode in the the NH debate, now this? Hillary is just reinforcing every stereotype about women. Her first big Mistake was running on her husband merits, not her own.

If she cannot stand up to Obama surge, she cannot stand up to the Republicans. Obama will do better than HRC against the republican in the debates and the general. He will do much better againist the republicans. He proved in in the NH debate. This CA woman, feminist, senior, and long time Democrat is voting for Obama.
