Many of the founders of current Chrisitian right organizations were part of the anti communist John Birch society. IN the 1980s with the fall of communism, they turned their attention to fighting abortion and gay rights and that became their new'enemy along with anti immigration later.

Two John Birchers, Beverly and Tim LeHay are prominent Christian Right organizers. Tin LeHaye was part of the Campus Crusades in the 70s and formed the Moral Majority with Jerry Falwell. When I was doing research on the Chrisitian Right politicos in the 1990s. LeHay's Left Behind series was being presented as TRUTH on CBN. In the mid early 2000s the Left Behind series were published as fictional books series.

Beverly LeHaye ardent anti communist, started Concerned Women of American(CWA), and Feminist for Life rolled of the CWA. CWA is anti abortion, anti gay, and FOF is anti abortion and anti birth control. CWA is now also aligned with the Tea Baggers, briging them back to their ant communist roots.

Beck and FOX have now become the voice and PR machine for the radical right wing. They are the Goebbels of the Right.

Beck is not totally ignorant of what he is doing when he purposely presents fascist and NAZI tactics, to an ignorant audience of believers. Beck and the right use the same tactics as the fasicist, NAZIs, but then claim that Obama is a Fascists.

Racism and nationalism is basis of fascism. They use nationalism as Christian nationalism.

I would like to know where the information Glenn made that the Obama administration is planning on shipping prisoners at Guantanamo to Bagaram. At least that is what Glenn insinuated.

I read that prisoners in the current Bagaram prison are going to be moved to a newly built Bagaram prison, with better conditions. That those prisoners who are known terrorists or have committed provable violent crimes will be separated from other prisoners. There will be reviews of prisoners who may have been wrongly detained and possible releases of those prisoners to their families.

Your so right about this new design. I'm an expert on design, and this design,type and new format is very unreadable.

Salon was one web site that had a great design with readability and now they are messing with it. I doubt they have a professional designer working on it, instead they probably have a web nerd, who knows nothing about type.

The U.S. Congress has more important things to do. Wilson has proven he is an ass. Leave it at that. A hearing will just give the right wing asses more time to rant about. Wilson represents the new kind of republican, the kind who attend tea bag protests.... rude, uninformed, ruthless, THUGS. They are not going to help the GOP win votes either.

The U.S. has accomplished nothing in any war since WW2, and that is because we have go it alone since then. I have no idea what we are trying to accomplish in Afghanistan. I think we probably did accomplish more in Iraq than we ever will in Afghanistan. Al Quieda is not the Taliban, and I don't think we can reform the crazy tribal system which exists in Afghanistan.

The U.S. faces the same situation as we did in Vietnam... A corrupt government which we support.

I think we should cut our loses and get out.

We can fight terrorism by diplomacy, a better, focused natinal security, pulling back so much support for for Israel,and more importantly stop nation building.

I do however think Glenn should quit dwelling on Bush/Cheney and move on.
